Does anyone have an built-in multi-tap kegerator?

Hey guys- I've had multiple different kegerators/keezers in the past, but am now looking at buying an under-counter, built-in kegerator that can support 4 taps (Preferably one 15g keg and 3 5g kegs). Does anyone have one that they have bought, used, and would recommend?

Clear/White slimy strings floating in suspension?

Hey guys - I am going thorough all of my stored homebrew kegs (10+) and I've found that a lot of them have these white, slimy strings floating in them. They look great on the surface and taste no different, but when you look in a poured glass, it's pretty apparent there's some stuff floating in...

    Primary in 23L Carboy

It's winemaking day and I just realized I only have 23L carboys available (no pails and my larger carboys are being used currently by beer. Wanted to run this by some of you guys: I'm thinking about making the full 6 gallons as instructed and just before adding yeast, pulling out 2-3...

    Specific Winemaking Questions

This is a new thread based on my advanced winemaking instructions thread. Quick recap: I'm making my first wine kit and am underwhelmed by the basic instructions. I understand that following the instructions will produce a quality product. But I feel comfortable doing more based on my...

    Advanced Instructions for Winemaking Komits?

Hey all - I've been searching the grand internetz for about an hour now and am now turning back to my homebrew roots for an answer. Quick background: I consider myself an advanced homebrewer (all-grain, temp controlled fermentation, filter, competition medalist, etc). To me, a 7 degree flux...

Taking 2 kegs to a BBQ on Saturday

Never transported my beer and tried to serve it the same day. I'll be arriving around 1:30pm and the BBQ officially starts at 3pm. So it'll be able to sit idle for about an hour and a half before serving. One of the kegs is filtered, the other I am planning on jumping tonight to a new keg...

    Harsh Hop Bitterness/Aftertaste?

I've noticed in 2-3 of my last hoppier ales they've had a fairly astringent/harsh bitterness in the aftertaste. Any idea what this could be attributed to? I tried filtering one and it was just as bad as beforehand. Aging hasn't seemed to help either (one is about 6 months old).

From Homebrewing to HomeWinemaking - any good how to's?

I consider myself an advanced homebrewer - all grain, temperature controlled fridges for fermentation, repitch yeast slurries, etc. That being said, I've never even looked into wine making and have recently had an increased interest in wine. Anyone have any recommendations for good reads on...

    Leak detection question

I have a keg in my system that seems to have a leak in it. I have uncarbonated scottish ale in it - so I have the PSI set at 8-9. I've been putting hte pressure up to that, it seems to hold, than I'll close the gas valve to the keg for about 4 hours. Sometime during that 4 hours it seems...

    Kegerator taps throttling foam

I've had my chest freezer taps for a couple years now - every once and a while it seems that they decide to act up and sometimes they act great. Usually I just pour a foamy beer and move on with the night, but I've finally gotten SWMBO to serve herself and after a cup-o-foam last night, she...

    Filling up 2-Liter bottles w/ force-carbed beer

I am heading off to the beach this weekend and want to take some homebrew with me. I was thinking about buying a bunch of cheap 2-liters of club soda at Wal-Mart, dumping out the club soda, and filling each bottle from my kegerator near the top and capping it. I know that once I reopen it...

    Epic Fail - worth saving?

I have 10 gallons of vienna lager I have been fermenting for the past 3 weeks - amazing fermentation and brew. Before kegging I decided to crash cool it in the carboy...with the blowoff tubes still in the carboys. I just walked down there to get ready to rack and I realized that the cold...

    First Filter was a Fail

Used one of the disc filters you can get on Williams Brewing last night for the first time (the kind the Brewing Network recommends). I was using a 'rough' filter. I had a pale ale that crash cooled for about 3 days, racked to the keg, cooled it again, then filtered it. After 1.5 hours, the...

Trying to make Beersmith IBU's = Promash IBU's

I have Promash and decided a few weeks ago to give Beersmith a try. So far it's taken a lot of restraint not to return to Promash. That being said, one of my biggest gripes about Beersmith is that the IBU's don't match up to what the brewing network IBU's are for their recipes (Promash...

Putting together some beers for my first competition...

I have a great Saison that is above the alcohol guidelines (around 8.8%). Should I enter this sucker as a Saison, a specialty, or both?

Still need to 'lager' a lager if I filter it?

Thinking about brewing a lager for the first time - I have the temp control and stuff to make an ample starter - just wondering if I have to lager it the traditional amount of time if I just filter it. Would love to have it ready by mid-june....

    Refractometer reading drifting up

I took a Refractometer reading from the boil kettle - it reads 10.9 Brix. I put down the refractometer, record the reading and let it sit on my table. 5 Minutes later I pick it up and it reads 11.2 - another 5 minutes and it's now at 11.5 - slowly drifting up. Does this have to do with the...

Gas burner hardly putting out a flame

I just hooked up my gas manifold for the first time this year and fired up the brewstand. My burners are getting hardly any pressure from the propane tank. It's not the tank as I have tried two, one of them brand new. It's able to get the temperatures up to mash temp - I'm a little worried...
