    Bru'n Water Kettle additions

    There are a couple of instances in Bru'n Water where it mentions the option of adding minerals to the "kettle" versus the mash. Is this referring to adding to the mash water prior to adding the malts and mashing in, or adding to the HLT when preparing mash and/or sparge water? Thanks!

    DME yeast starter has particles in it

    After boiling a batch of DME for a yeast starter, I noticed that there were particles floating in the wort. It looked as if I had taken it straight from an all-grain boil. The boil pot was clean, the DME was nice and dry and looked good and the water was clear before the boil. I don't use DME...

    Can you really ferment 15.5 gals in a 1/2 BBL Chronical?

    Has anyone who owns a SSBrewTech 1/2 BBL Chronical fermenter fermented 15.5 gals in one? The head space seems to be a bit lacking. I am thinking about buying one but wanted some first hand comments. Thanks!
