    Foam question

    I just tried an oatmeal IPA I just brewed. I tried one bottle and split it between 2 glasses for my girlfriend and I to try. It tasted great and had good carbonation. After I finished it though. A layer of foam stayed in the glass. Not just the edges, the whole glass. What would cause this?

    Airlock contamination

    I brewed a brewers best oatmeal stout. For the first time, I tried filling the airlock with vodka. I read that it helps keep out infection and bacteria. I checked my beer and the airlock had little hints of brown in the airlock. What is that from? I've never seen that before.

    Octoberfest question

    I'm brewing an octoberfest from extract this weekend. The alcohol is only 3.5% and I wanted to up it a little. This is my 3rd brew and I've added brown sugar to a pumpkin kit I brewed and it turned out great. Would brown sugar work with the octoberfest? Or would anyone recommend something else?
