How to Cool Wort (w/out wort chiller)

Not to sound like an @$$ or anything, but with all the money spent on ice, bottles, water, etc for every batch you do it seems worth it to invest in an IC. I found a 25' roll of 3/8 copper at Home Depot and all the connections for about $35-40 and about 30 minutes of my time. I cool down 5...

    Steam sanitize?

I have a friend in the Jewelry repair business. As you may know they use these steam cleaners for rings, watches, and such. He commented that I should use one of those while brewing to sanitize things such as hydrometer, mixing spoon, thief and even the bottles. Even mentioned that he had...

    Wii Bowling

We got one for the kiddos for Christmas...we all play it and have a blast. My high bowling is 213. Funny story, we took the 4 and 6 yo bowling last week on New Years. They had been Wii bowling for about a week and were very disappointed that they did not get several strikes and spares and...

I am sure this is a screwup

Broozer - I suppose you would be willing to take the batch off my hands so I don't have to clean up the mess. Thanks for easing my concerns everyone. I actually just came from the house and took a gravity reading. It was 1.013...target is .010 - .012 so that made me feel a little better...

Noob questions here... So I planned on brewing last night and when ahead and activated my smack pack. Life happened and I was not able to brew. How long after activating a smack pack do you have to use it? BTW...I have kept it refrigerated.

    Tiered system and temp control

Yeah, I suppose a closet is the way to go. For the heating, what does everyone recommend? I have seen talk of a light bulb, heat lamp, space heater, heating pad, belt, etc. Will they all work as well as anything else or are their ideal solutions?
