Smack Pack

Noob questions here...

So I planned on brewing last night and when ahead and activated my smack pack.

Life happened and I was not able to brew. How long after activating a smack pack do you have to use it?

BTW...I have kept it refrigerated.

Keeping it refrigerated will slow down the yeast. If you keep it cold, you should be able to keep it for a couple weeks or so. I've kept smacked packs in the fridge for at least 2 weeks. Bring it up to room temp before brewing with it, when you are ready.

I used a 6 month after date smack pack a while ago in a starter and it was fine.
