    Did I ruin it?

I wish i could have seen some photos of the mess, on my first brew i had a blow off tube hooked up and it was running into a 12 oz. cup and it overflowed in my cup and created a huge mess in my closet, was very funny to see. On the bright side the closet smells great now.

    Air lock

It looks fine to me. Just give it some time, even if you dont see any bubble after a few days take a gravity reading to check to see if the yeast is working.

It's bottling day (racking up my first brew)

Wow, lots of posts. First off the brew is a hopped extract kit Coopers Dark Ale. I used 3 lbs of malt extract as my sugar. I picked up a very detailed Brew journal that lets me fill in the blanks with all the information of the brew along with areas for notes.

It's bottling day (racking up my first brew)

If i was reading everything right it should be about 1.6, and yeah it was very fast, i may have been because of how warm our house it, and i did not want it to sit on the yeast cake very long since this was only a 1 stage brew. I watched some videos on using the hydrometer, and my OG is 1.021...

First Brew Fermenting like a mad man and other fun questions.

Well when i say air lock, i am talking about the small one that you add a little bit of water into, i have it set up right now with a tube running into a jar of water (air lock) and the foam and bubbles are making a huge mess :D This is what i have set up right now, i changed my cup out for a...
