    Secondary Question

I transferred my first brew to the secondary on Tuesday evening. Is there supposed to be anything going on? I have a few bubbles floating around on the top but other than that just looks like dark beer. Any ideas. This is a brewers best Amber Cerveza kit. The beer smelled and tasted normal...

    WOW...Oxyclean

I have been using all glass carboys for sometime now, painfully cleaning with the carboy brush. Then I read a thread on here about Oxyclean. That could be the best product made. Left it sit over night and it is perfectly clean. Question.....I got the Oxyclean Free, outside of the normal...

    Double Chocolate Stout...

I have done this exact kit and have just started drinking. It is a great beer. A good taste of chocolate but doesn't over power. Great beer! My only advice is let it sit in the bottles for a couple months.

    Another crazy noob keg question

On my second keg. The first keg I had no problems with staying at one presure all the way through. The second one held 15 pounds of presure while carbing for a week and a half. Now that I am drinking out of the second I can't get it to stay at one pressure. If I put 5 or 6 pounds on it and...

Great Beer to No Flavor Beer

This is a nut brown ale. I am going to adjust my fridge to a warmer temp tonight and see what happens. Also I will fill a glass and set it on the counter for a bit and try it. I hope you all are right on the temp being the problem. I have been looking forward to this beer. Thanks again.

Great Beer to No Flavor Beer

I kegged my first home brew about a week and a half ago. While transfereing from primary to secondary I tasted my sample and it was a great beer. While transfering from Secondary to Keg it was a great beer. I hooked the keg up to 14 psi for 8 days then backed it down to 7 till last night...

    PSI Question

I am sure this has been asked but I have used the search function and not found what I am looking for so here it goes. I recently setup my kegerator with just one faucet. I bought the dual regulator system so I can carb one while drinking another. I had a local pub fill one of my corny's to...

    CO2 Question

Thanks again for all your replies. It has leveled off so I think I am good. I love this kegging stuff. 2 hours bottling and 10 minutes filling a keg. Doesn't take me much to figure out the beauty!

    CO2 Question

I kegged my first beer tonight. When I hooked everything up the guage was a almost in the middle between 600 and 800. After about 3 hours in the fridge I notced that the gauge dropped down to the quarter mark above 600. Also after putting it in the fridge the psi was set to 12 and was down to...

LHBS will NOT sell ME hops

I am also from Indy and have been to Great Fermentations. There have been several times that I have gone in there and a younger gentlemen by the name of Jason(I am pretty sure that is his name) was working and he was completely rude and acted like it was a pain for me to be there. But I have...

    O-ring fell in beer :0

You will be fine. My first batch I did the same thing and just pushed the air lock down all the way and used electrical tape to keep it down. I am drinking this batch now and it is perfect. Don't worry all will be fine. I learned to just forget about it as I was told when I posted the same...

    5 Gallon Boils

I am new to brewing, the next batch will be my sixth. My question to your comment is will I need more hops? If so will one of the brewing softwares out there adjust this for me. I am going to try the full boil with Austin Home Brews Double Chocolate Stout this Saturday. Thanks again for...

    5 Gallon Boils

I have a 30qt. pot which I believe is big enough. Yes all the kits have steeping grains. So you are saying start with the 2.5 gallons and steep, then add the rest of the water and bring to a boil and add the LME and go from there, correct? I have a copper chiller already also to answer the...

    5 Gallon Boils

I am currently doing 2.5 gallon boils as the kits from Austin Home Brew say in there intructions. I am hooked on the kits from them and have recently purchased a propane burner so I can brew in the garage. Is there anything I need to do differently to do a full 5 gallon boil or just stick to...
