    Last homebrew for a while

To lighten up the mood here, perhaps what their relationship needed was more clarity.

How far is it advised to keep a control panel away from a flame/heat? Building a modified Brutus with BG14s and am wanting to mount the control panel on the side, about 11-13" away from the flame, but still on the frame.

    Random Picture Thread

20 years ago when I was in Arlington, our class teacher made sure we knew that if we took a picture of a funeral, the guard would swoop in and destroy our camera. Is that no longer the case, or perhaps they extend that right to only the family.

    Wordpress woes

Just a WAG, but two ideas: Double check where your domain hosting is forwarding to Go into your web hosting under the SQL (or maybe an actual file) and undo your edits. I played with WP for years. It can be amazing, but also very finicky and frustrating on occasion. Barring those ideas, you...

    Need help/suggestions with gas fittings.

I appreciate it. Went to HD and got brass threaded couplings ($8 each, ouch!) and a propane to NPT adapter for the incoming gas. Now i can scratch the gas portion off the todo list!

Indiana Blichmann G1 Kettles, Chugger Pumps, and Monster Mill

What's the difference between the pumps? I'm building a Brutus and am in hunt for a pump(would economically prefer one pump verse two).

    Need help/suggestions with gas fittings.

The iron to brass didn't seat as nicely as iron to iron, and I was concerned that perhaps the bevel on that brass needed a specific fitting to accompany it. Figured it'd be better to throw a picture up on here and double check rather than live in doubt or lose my eyebrows lol.

Not OP, but is this an appropriate connection? Just have a reservation the crowned brass shouldn't go on to iron.

Will these 1/4" ID 2 foot lenth hoses fit the bill, or will it be too small to run a BG14? Back says rated for 40k BTU. They were on clearance for $5 at Home Depot, so I shot first and am asking second.

What I did for beer today

I'd get it one piece at a time And it wouldn't cost me a dime (lmao at least that's what I tell the wife) You'll know it's me when I come through your town I'm going to ride around in style I'm going to drive everybody wild Because I'll have the only one there is a round

Where to buy short propane hose?

Gotcha. That'd be dynamite if the valves (#4) acted as regulators themselves. Just figured pressure pressurizes, but I guess it'd make sense since it's being consumed and not retained that it wouldn't pressurize and you could throttle based on the valve. Whew! So the on/off valve does also act...

Where to buy short propane hose?

I appreciate your diagram - I'm about to plumb mine and it's very helpful. Seems to be the status quo. Would multiple regulators at the burner level be more customizable? Ex. If you're wanting to regulate your mash temp while also bringing up some sparge water, could you adjust the pressure? Or...

What I did for beer today

Another day, another step closer. The size and weight of those burners caught me off guard! Last pic is old my old system is one new burner. 1x5" vs 3x10". Whew. Any calculator to determine if it'll be top heavy? Now that I'm playing with it, I'm either going to mount the wheels inside and...

Hybrid Brutus with SS Brewtech Gear - My Build

It came up in another thread that you should drill a release hole for steam in the frame that's in contact with the flame on the off chance it would pressurize. Just curious if that's something your dad did or would do given his obvious talents and knowledge. Edit: and just after I submitted...

What I did for beer today

Lol. My predicament to a tee. Caster City is $50 sight unseen, but Harbor Freight will still be $30+. Was hoping for 5", 300lb with locks. If there's a 1,200lb load, we've done something terribly wrong!

Brutus is taking shape. Burners ordered - now to shop for casters. Anyone have good luck with Harbor Freight?

    Cast/Black Iron Pipes and fitting

Call around to a few welding shops. I tried ordering some steel online for my Brutus and a few other projects and (of course) the shipping blew my mind away. Then I **** my pants when I saw what Lowe's was asking. Thankfully I had the revelation to think a little more outside the box...

Are the Banjo BG14 burners still the default for someone building a Brutus style 10 gallon keggle rig on propane?
