My thoughts are that I may have a high ester profile which probably will not be so great in this style of beer since I fermented at the upper temp range of the yeast for the first 48 hours. At that point it came down to 70deg, but still not low enough. Have to find a good solution in the south...

BTW, in the primary and had insane fermentation for 4 days (looked like a volcano almost in there - I have a video). She started 4 degrees too warm for my taste.

Yeah, getting the temp down is tough in an upstairs duplex in Richmond. I am shooting for 70 now, but its not looking too good with the downstairs floor cranking up their heat! I've had the AC on and its still hard to do. At least my heating bill should be low this winter.

Excellent, thanks! I'll go ahead and just bolt a small tower down and call it a day (two tap uncooled). I'll link some pics of the result in case it will help anyone else. On a side note, do you think adding that interior insulation did much for you?

Yeah, I've measured the hole, but I am not sure of the diameter of the tower shaft. For a 3" tower is it less than 3? Or do I just need room for the lines. I have about 2" diameter now.

So I have to ask, any luck with installing a tap in the stock hole location? Would that be even possible? I would like to do a two tap tower. I have the keggerator already, but am hoping to order a tower this weekend.

Richmond Oxygen charges about $13.50 for a 2.5# and will put a safety label on your bottle if it doesn't have one already. Also, they have some kegging hardware/cleaning supplies. The CO2 is beverage grade. Hope this helps any future keggers in Richmond!

Hey everyone, after several calls around the city I finally tracked down Richmond Oxygen. They are the only site that will refill 2.5# tanks and larger. Plus, it is while you wait and no exchange if you bought a brand new tank. Only open to 5pm so I have to wait until Thursday.

Hey guys, just posting on here to try and find a good source to refill CO2 tanks. I have a newly hydro'd 2.5# tank I am looking to top off. I am located in Church Hill. Thanks and looking to make it out to Mekong soon!

Well, I just went ahead with the 6.0cuft Igloo setup. I figure it was pretty cheap and a 3yr warranty isn't bad. The only downside that I can see to this is the CO2 tank has to be stored inside the unit, but I'll live. Now I think I just have to make sure I have the right size lines.

So I go to make the purchase this morning and what do I find? A Walmart price jump of $40! WTF? At $480 shipped w/protection plan for 3 years not sure if its a good deal when I can grab the Igloo one for $50 bucks less... Oh well, I guess I can always upgrade more than I planned!

There is, but they tend to be about 200-300 more and the dual tap setup would be about 120 to purchase. I'll probably do that in a year or two.
