    Southeastern VA/Eastern NC???

It's been a while since the last one. I'm hoping to get back to brewing more, so I'll probably be trying to get something together soon. There was never much interest in the bulk buys that we did, so it was hard to keep the hookup that I found. I'm trying to find another brewery that is willing...

    Kegging Carbonation Woes

I second the suggestion on this: http://www.mikesoltys.com/2012/09/17/determining-proper-hose-length-for-your-kegerator/

    757 Home Brewers

I am still active. Not sure how many others are. Shifted somewhat over to FB, so don't do as much on HBT. Look up Coastal Virginia Homebrewers Guild on Facebook.

    increased carbonic acid after overcarb

^^^ It should go away if you get the carbonation right, then give it several days settle down. Probably take several purges of the pressure to get the carb back down.

What’s a quicker way to bottle beer?

Adding a 2nd spigot to a bottling bucket will cut the fill time in half. Attach a spring operated bottle filler wand to each spigot with a short piece of racking tubing and fill 2 at a time. If you have have someone to help you cap, it can go pretty quickly. And yes, a bench capper also helps.

    Flat Beer ?!?!?!

If you're getting a lot of foam, that's co2 coming out of solution which will cause flat/under carbonated bottles. Also, if you have to release the pressure in the keg, that can cause flat beer because the pressure is no longer keeping the co2 IN the beer.

    Flat Beer ?!?!?!

I would think it's going to be tricky getting that dialed in. Might consider a different bottle filling solution if possible. They all have a slight learning curve to them, but would probably work better than a growler filler.

    Flat Beer ?!?!?!

How are you bottling? Beergun? Counter pressure filler?

    Fine tuning final beer processes.....

I like transferring to keg, start carbonating, then gelatin, then transfer crystal clear beer to serving keg.

Problem dispensing - too much foam

What size is the stainless tubing? Also, would it be possible to put the keg in a tub of ice?

    Teflon Tape for Gas Connections

Or, it could be the shutoff valve. If you're talking about the little cheap Chinese made ball valve type shutoffs, that could be adding to the problem.

    Teflon Tape for Gas Connections

I think some of the worst quality fittings are the shutoff/check valves a lot of people use in splitters or gas manifolds. I fought with a leak for over a year before finally tracking it down to those shutoff valves coming out of each regulator. I got rid of them and the leak went away. In my...

    Teflon Tape for Gas Connections

The Teflon isn't needed. I don't think it increases the chances of a leak if you have it on the threads, unless it keeps it from tightening down on the required plastic seal.

    Spunding for dummies

Here's a spunding manifold that can be used for multiple kegs. There is a bit of a learning curve when using these. Gotta make sure you have plenty of head space and I've found it's better to wait on spunding until after the active fermentation has slowed down some.

    Entering a BJCP/AHA Competition...

Or, have one of these machined that just inserts into the tap like a growler filler. Then you can come up like something like this and bottle from the tap being able to purge with co2, and counterpressure fill to eliminate foam. It's really nice bottling right from the tap, especially if your...
