    LorAnn Candy Oils

I'm wondering if, even not being water soluble, these would infuse a little better if added during the boil, say for the last 5 minutes or so. Thoughts?

    Pump recommendation

The anvil pump is the reason I keep looking. I bought it with high hopes and getting that thing primed has been a nightmare for me. I read how with some pumps you have to build a bleed valve for air but I'm not getting into all that. A self priming one would be awesome.

    Pump recommendation

Was wondering if anyone could recommend a self-priming brew pump for a decent price. Preferably under $150.

    Inkbird controllers

I am going to be converting a chest freezer into a fermentation chamber soon so I was looking at the inkbird temp controllers. Can anyone recommend one model over another? They have a few models and I'm having trouble understanding the difference between them. I dont want one more complicated...

    Fermentation chamber questions

Good to know! Do you cold crash? Do you find that you get clearer beers?

    Fermentation chamber questions

I have been recently finding out just how important fermentation temperature control is to making great beer. That being said, I want to build a fermentation chamber. I just happen to have a chest freezer to use but I don't know the first thing about what else I need. I don't think I'll need a...

    So. Many. Questions.

So here's what I've learned so far: 1. Yeast starter and rehydrating dry yeasts is a good idea. 2. Fermentation chambers give you more control of ferm temps. 3. Late extract additions are better than full boil. Question 4 (I think): I have a huge problem with chill haze. I know it's not that...

Very good! I used the big mouth bubblers like you. Will one of those fit in a mini-fridge?

    So. Many. Questions.

This conversation is like gold to me right meow. Question 4 (I think): I have a huge problem with chill haze. I know it's not that big of a deal as far as taste is concerned. I just don't like it. I use whirfloc tablets 15 minutes before flameout and while bottle conditioning I notice that it...

    So. Many. Questions.

You guys are all so helpful! I used to try to stay away from these forums but there's a lot of knowledge here. Okay so question 3: As far as extract goes, I have read that partial mash brewing is okay but you really have to watch and make sure you get quality extracts. That being said, I've...

Let me get back to you on this! Your comment on extracts give me another major question.

    So. Many. Questions.

This is all really good advice! I struggle with the idea that homebrewing doesn't have to be expensive. I'm starting to see that a lot of the time if you just use a basic setup without spending a lot you can usually make pretty okay beer, maybe pretty good beer here and there, and there are some...

    So. Many. Questions.

I've been using fermcap to keep from boil-over and it works pretty well. The reduced IBUs is a really good point though. I do sometimes notice a slight underachievement in the IBUs when I have to top off a lot. I guess getting more specific I'm wondering if the water that's in the boil undergoes...

    So. Many. Questions.

I do think the boil was pretty vigorous. I had to turn the flame down a few times. I have always heard the more vigorous the better but I usually do only boil off about a gallon per hour. I'll keep the flame lower from now on. I just want to know if adding water to hit OG has a negative effect...

    So. Many. Questions.

What do you do? Do you try to boil down to the right volume? Or do you purposely end up with a less with the intention of having to top off?

    So. Many. Questions.

I'm not new to homebrewing. I've been doing it for 5 years. But until recently I've only been doing it as a very passive hobby when I'm bored and not really concerned about having GREAT beer. In the last few months that has changed. I've started realizing how much time is wasted if you're not...

    Porter recipe opinions

I'm making a clone recipe, even though I'm generally against clones, but this is actually because the brewery that makes the beer doesn't distribute to where I live. It's a porter by Georgetown Brewery (http://georgetownbeer.com/products#porter). Given the information provided by Georgetown for...

    Mini-Keg beer dispensers

I make 3 gallon batches of beer at a time and am looking for an alternative to bottling. I was thinking of conditioning in 5 liter mini-kegs. Does anyone know of a good mini-keg dispenser that cools and keeps the beer carbed with Co2?

    Humorous homebrew names

Hahaha I like these, they're great. But I was moreso thinking about using figures from pop culture, like Nicki Minaj or JFK, or the pope, etc.
