Ohio Homebrewing two tier stand $400 Obo (Local pickup only)

For sale is a two tier homebrewing stand. I brewed roughly 100-5 gallon batches (probably many more) with this system and it works great, I no longer have the time or frankly the room for homebrewing and have been selling off all my gear. This is the last to go. It includes. . . *2- 10...

New brewery opening up in Indianapolis?

I was driving to work today and noticed that in the old Tway co. building on North Street it looks like someone is putting in a brewery, there were several large conical fermenters stacked in the bay. Of course could very well be a winery or meadery. I have been out of the loop so I have not...

    Lubricating cam-locks?

So I switched over to cam-locks and find that they are pretty tough at times to close. Has anyone tried to lubricate them, maybe with keg lube or something similar?

    Long term hop storage data.

So I've been on hiatus for over a year and have not brewed a drop. I know, I know. I have bulk grain that I am pretty sure is shot (stored 65ish in various sealed plastic containers). However I have a few lbs of various hops that were vaccum sealed and frozen the entired time. Does...

    Whiskey's Brew rig

I figured I'd post a few pics of my brew rig. There are still a few tweaks and final touches to be made, but here ya go. It uses a Gott and Home Depot 10 gallon coolers for the HLT and MLT. The stand is built from 2x4's and 4x4's I had lying around. I only had to purchase the 1/4 plywood...

    2009 Longshot.

It appears I received my 2009 Longshot stuff in the mail today, the SWMBO just shot me an e-mail saying I received a large padded envelope from the Boston Beer Company "Longshot 2009". I'll update once I get home.

    E-HLT questions.

I am working on plans for a Electric HLT using a 2000W 120v element, and had a few questions before I start to order/purchase parts. 1. Is a PID really necessary if I am only going to heat sparge water? I will not be boiling, or recirculating mash or anything, just heating strike/sparge...

    First Mead

I was able to sample a few varieties of Mead this weekend, courtesy of Brothers Drake Fine Meads, (206 Oak ST. Columbus, OHIO Check 'em out!). I am officially hooked. I do see now, why it is referred to as the "Drink of the Gods". It was shockingly fantastic.

    Bottle filling.

This question is directed at the Kegging folks. I do not keg, I do not have the space or resources for a kegging setup. However, I have several bottles of various styles set to go for an upcoming competition. I realized that somehow on two styles I have a bottle each that is a sam adams...

    Single stage fermentation/bottle conditioning issue..

I brewed a Chocolate porter in early November, and was planning on trying out single stage fermentation, as apposed to using a secondary. However, with the holidays, work, etc, I was unable to bottle at 4 weeks, it has now set for 6 1/2 weeks on the yeast bed. I know there is a danger of...

    1L swing top bottles.

My father in-law sent me a six pack of 1lt swingtop bottles in a nice wood carrier. I was planning on using one of them when I bottle my next batch. The issue is will I need to adjust the priming sugar to get a good carbination? I've notice that the batches where I used a few 22oz bottles...

    Reversing a recipe.....

The title may be slighty confusing... But here it goes. I have been using beertools (web) for about a year with pretty good success. I been working on my blond recipe for awhile tweaking it a bit, etc. My last three batches have been this beer and the last two batches have been fantastic...

    Back....

Not that anyone would remember me, but I am back after too long. Busy at work, new house, unsure of how to set up the new brewery etc. Anyways, the third car garage has become my brewery, just picked up a Bayou Classic "patio stove" a spare propane tank and a couple of tall coolers to hold my...

    Odd mouth feel, no head......

Hey all my batch had been in bottles for about 5 weeks before I sampled. Anyways poured a couple this weekend and my first issue is no head, and I mean no head, not even foam when poured. It is carbonated well, I'd even too much for a Stout. I do not notice any real off-flavors other than...

    Auto siphon cracked.

Oddest thing, I used my Auto-siphon last Thursday to transfer a batch from the secondary to the bottling bucket, then later that after noon to transfer wort from my kettle to the primary. I rinsed out the auto siphon after use then set it aside. Once I was done with everything I placed all...

    Not mine but DIY worthy....

Anyways my father in-law is a braumeister in Germany, currently he designs and builds brewing setups for, well breweries and soft drink plants. The company is called Dohler Engineering. He has a few hundred acres on a mountain side in Poland (long story) where he has a "summer home" and his...
