    question from first time brewer

    I just finished a falconers flight ipa extract and week one in the bottles was better then week 3. Week one it had a kind of sweet tea taste then a strong hop kick at the ends. Week 3 the hops seemed to mellow out over the whole thing.

    Ok I have white spots on top of the beer. I transferred to the carboy for the secondary ferment. With an og of 1.013 and after 24 hours I got these white spots. It's an extract kit from brewers best, I rinsed the carboy out with 1 tsp of bleach and 1 gal of water. Then rinsed 3 times and used...

    The bitterness is up there I think it like 70 something ibu. I'd compare it to a dig by new Belgium. But dig is hoppy at the end and the one I brewed the hops are spread out through the whole taste. That's how I would describe it hope it helps?

    It's good now when I opened it early there was a like a sweet tea taste at the beginning then then really hoppy. But now its blended together between the sweetness and hops

    Ok that sounds pretty good i don't have a mash ton yet but planing on making one out of a water cooler. I like dead guy but I want just a bit more bite to it, what would I have to do to get the ibu up a bit more? And if I did bring up the ibu a bit more would that really mess up the beer?
