If you have a thermocouple it looks like a type J to me from the colors. Type k thermocouples are red and yellow.

You can boil it to sanitize it but i would wrap it in foil and throw it in the oven for 30 minutes at 350 or higher. Dry heat sterilization is your best bet unless you have a pressure cooker to "autoclave" it for 20 minutes.

Let me add to my previous statement about the Mypins I have that do not working correctly. In no way am I biased and yes, i know how to tune PID controllers. It was a significant part of my education and i am responsible for tuning at my employment. Maybe the 2 controllers I have are faulty but...

I've had the same experience with the mypins. They don't tune like the should. Your best bet is to replace it if you want proper PID control.

To be safe you can sterilize them in your oven. As long as the bottles heat to 170 deg Celsius for 30 minutes you should be good.

I use one of those hoses you use to hook up your washing machine. It's stainless steel over braid and I can connect a garden hose nozzle to the end to wash equipment. It works awesome and costs under 10 bucks I think
