    Apfelwein in Mr. Beer

So, the Apfelwein is my second ever brew, and it's scheduled to go into the bottles on Thursday. Should I use carbonation tabs and keep things simple?

First pour and taste from first ever batch!

Good luck, I'm actually quite surprised at the clarity. Especially because I batch primed right in the Mr. Beer, and then bottled from there.

First pour and taste from first ever batch!

So, the wife got me a Mr. Beer for Christmas, and I read everything I could on the forums for advice. I brewed the Mr. Beer American Devil IPA, let it sit in primary for 21 days, and then moved to the bottles. I primed the entire batch in the Mr. Beer, let it settle, and started filling up...

Woot! First brew is in bottles... now trying my hand at that Apfelwein

With regards to my bottled first batch, are the bottles supposed to feel extremely firm? I am using the PET bottles that came with the kit. For the apfelwein, i went out and bought a case of 12-oz glass bottles, a capper and caps - but that is over a month away at this point.

Woot! First brew is in bottles... now trying my hand at that Apfelwein

Ha! I'm making this batch for her actually, as a thank you for getting me the Mr. Beer. Maybe if I get her drunk, I can convince her it's already time to jump to a 5-gallon setup :mug:

Woot! First brew is in bottles... now trying my hand at that Apfelwein

So my first Mr. Beer batch has moved to bottles. All the bottles feel very firm, which I am assuming is a sign that the priming sugar is working its magic. I batch primed, let the Mr. Beer fermenter settle for quite a bit, then bottled directly from the Mr. Beer. A bottling bucket is high on...

Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

Bottling with Mr Beer question... All I have right now is the Mr Beer kit and the eight 1-liter bottles. I am considering running out and grabbing an auto siphon, bottling bucket and bottle filler as it seems like those tools make life easier... Is it worth it to grab that equipment and...

Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

Fellow SoCal resident here, but I am closer to the beach... so temps are a tad cooler. I'm leaving my beer in primary for 21 days.

What are some of the mistakes you made...where your beer still turned out great!

My first batch EVER is currently sitting in primary. This thread is probably the best thing I've read here... thank you ALL! I'm going to stop stressing, and just wait and see what happens.

Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

Good suggestions, instead I am going to have a friend start a batch so he can learn as well... this way, we can share beers and not lose patience. Also, research is helping to quell any desire to have at my beer too early. Good advice though

Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

Awesome, let us know how it turns out - I am only a few days into my first batch, and already getting itch to try it. I will be patient though...

    Mr.Beer Question.

It's only been in the Mr Beer fermenter for about 3 days now. I will be sure to post when I pop open the first bottle.

    Mr.Beer Question.

Hey there, I just started on my first batch as well. My wife got me the kit as a gift, but she also sprung for the American Devil IPA. It comes with two cans of HME as well, and no Booster. When the MrBeer kits come that way (I believe they call them Deluxe HME kits), you just use both cans...
