    Missed my og.....

    Last sunday I brewed a chocolate porter and missed my OG....It was supposed to be between 1.044 and 1.047 it ended up being 1.030.... how bad is it going to be?

    Second batch in the primary

    Well did my second batch today...It is an Auburn Amber Ale from AHS... Missed the OG by .006 it was supposed to be 1.048 and I ended up at 1.054-ish. I'm thinking it was due to Boil off.. The temp out today was 22 degrees F.

    bottled my first batch

    Well I bottled my first batch today....It was a golden ale the fg was 1.016. It was in the primary for 20 days (didn't get my secondary til yesterday).. the beer was a little cloudy will this clear up more in the bottle? Can't wait to try it....:mug:

    I have followed the brewing instuctions in my kit and it say that it will make 5 gal of beer. getting ready to add my yeast and I only have 4.5 gallons of wort in my primary. should I add more water or just pitch my yeast... i have followed the recipe to the t and added oll the correct amounts...

    Have a problem

    I was waiting for my second hop addition and while i was waiting my burner went out.. The turkey fryer that i got has a timer on the regulator and every 15 minutes it needs to be reset. Well my geuss is that about 10 minutes before i went out the burner shut off and my wort stopped boiling...

    Priming

    I have read some posts where some brewers prime the bottles and some prime when they transfer to bottling bucket. my question is which one is better or do i have to do both ?

    my kit has a hop schedule of 1/2 oz 60 min and 1/2 oz 5 min. do i add the first when it starts to boil then the second 5 min before end of boil ?
