    Grainfather Water Calculations

I recently purchased a Grainfather G30 v2. I've been using Brew n Water to calculate water and salt additions. This time I attempted to use the GF app's water calculator and it is showing three times the amount of salts (Chalk, Epson Salt, etc) for the same recipe using Brew N Water and...

Ward Lab Report - Supposed to be RO water

I recently wanted to pay more attention to my Brewing water so I purchased six gallons of water from a local water station that claims this is RO water. So I sent a sample Ward Labs and got the results back today. Sure doesn't look like RO water to me but I'm no expert. The following are the...

    Potassium Metabisulfite - Boil ?

Is it absolutely necessary to boil water to remove Chlorine when using Potassium Metabisulfite? Or can I just add it to my container and let it sit for a couple days. The reason I ask is I'm going to try one of More Beer's new Flash Brew kit that does not require boiling. Thanks

First Cider Brew - Water Question

How important is it to boil all the water that will be used to make my first Apple Cherry Cider? The instructions say to boil 1 gallon of water and dissolve 2 lb of dextrose, add to fermenter once it is cooled then top up to 6 gallons. Should the top up water be boiled also? I'm using RO...

    Length of fermentation

I have a Red Ale that has been in the fermenter for five six days now. I'm using a Tilt Hydrometer and reached my target FG of 1.010 two days ago and it hasn't changed. I'm still getting bubbling in my blow off about once a minute. Since it appears that the fermentation is complete are the...
