AM I Crazy? Or should beer be simple and enjoyable?

I homebrew because I love beer. I believe beer should be simple, and enjoyable. Did our ancestors who drank beer worry about "mouthfeel" or "notes of citrus and flowers"? NO! They wanted beer that tasted good and made them feel good. I'm not a Cicerone, or an aspiring microbrewery owner. I make...

Pumpkin ale. Still very actively fermenting?

I started fermentation on a Pumpkin ale on Oct. 29th. Using US05, I can of pumpkin, and 1 cup of brown sugar as the only adjuncts to 2 row malt. I ferment at...

These bees show up and drink from the grain bag while its draining. Its kinda cool, actually. They've gotten "friendly" and land on me and crawl around once in...

Draining the grain bag after mashing

Hello all! As a newer BIAB brewer, I have struggled with getting all the precious, sugary liquid out of the grain after mashing. I saw that some people use pulley systems, and some use silicon oven mitts to squeeze all the liquid out of the grain bag. I humbly submit my solution. Its Weber...
