Simcoe Select from Midwest fermentation question

I just brewed an all grain version of this. My question is how long should I leave in primary if I'm skipping secondary, before bottling? I would also like to dry hop with two oz of Simcoe, too much? When should I do the dry hop? This is how I ferment in the garage in the cold. Sent from...

    What did I do Wrong

I just finished a brew with my Father and Brother, on my deck on a beautiful summer night! Can't beat it! However, I missed my OG... Grains include 14lbs of 2-row pale, and 2 lbs of Crystal 60. I mashed with 4 gallons at 152 then batch sparged using 1.3 and 3.3 using 185 degree water to...

Beersmith Question with All Grain Kit

My recipe is calling for a batch sparge in two parts. It says to use 1.23 and 3.38 of 168 degree water for the batch sparge. Does that mean to use 168 degree water for the sparge or to bring the grain temp up to 168? Im sure this has been answered before but I can't find it.

    Question Regarding Mashout.

http://images.nationalenergycenter.org/vspfiles/love2learn/kitinstructions/americanimperialipa(ag).pdf This calls for 60min Sacch rest, which I understand. I usually then vorloff, and drain the tun completely, then add the rest of the water and let sit for 10min then batch sparge. This...

Question about a recipe I found online

I found this recipe for Dales and I have a question regarding it and other recipes online. It says to mash at 152 for 60 min. Does this mean to mash your entire water supply with no sparge? Or do you mash around 3.5 gallons and sparge with the rest? I see a lot of recipes that only list the...

    First All Grain

I brewed my first all grain and bottled a week and a half ago. I just tasted and carbonation was great, smelled nice too. The only problem is that the body and taste is not there. Could this have something to do with my mash? If it sits longer in the bottle will the flavor improve?

    Dead Ringer Kit Secondary Fermentation.

This is my first brew, it's fermenting like crazy only a few days in. My question is should I move to a secondary in a week or two? Maybe just dry hop in the primary and bottle? Opinions?

    Pitching Safale US-05 Tomorrow.

Should I just pour it dry in the carboy or should I rehydrate it first? I have been hearing different things.

    Water

I'm sure this has been discussed a million times, however how should I tackle the water issue of what to use for my first brew? Dead Ringer IPA.

    2.5 gallons vs. 5 gallons

Dead Ringer IPA calls for boiling around 2.5 gallons of wort and then adding 2 gallons of water to the fermenter after cooling wort to 100. Should I be doing it this way? Maybe I should boil 5 gallons, cool then top off in the fermenter.

    Brewing Dead Ringer IPA

The instructions say: 2. Collect and heat 2.5 gallons of water. 3. For mail-order customers grains for extract kits come crushed by default, but if you requested uncrushed grains, crush them now. Pour crushed grain into supplied mesh bag and tie the open end in a knot. Steep for 20...

New Aluminum Brew Kettle used oil to season

I am extremely new to this and bought a large 32 qt aluminum brew kettle. After taking it out of the box I read the instructions saying to season with light oil 3 times. I started to heat the oil, after coating the entire pot, then stopped after 5 min thinking something wasn't right. I then...
