    you will be fine, i used some of the same stuff in my first batch til my bargain fittings stuff came, no issues. my only concern was if the orings could handle the heat, they were fine

    Has anyone used this yeast?

    do you really consider mixing yeast with 4 oz of water that much work? it's quite easy, yes i do it that way. the warmer temps gets the yeast working quicker and is sort of like creating a starter but not really. follow the directions, it will work great.

    Brewed again yesterday, paid very close attention to my sparge speed. it was incredibly slow, seemingly too slow but my efficency improved dramatically, got it to around 75% What other options do i have if i'm using a 10 gallon round cooler besides a kettle screen?

    NYC American Craft Beer Festival - 3/3

    for those of us who live in the city, it's not all that expensive. any bar that serves a variety of craft beers is charging $7 or even $8 a pint these days. not sure if i'm gonna be able to attend or not tho

    Yeast Washing Illustrated

    thanks guys, makes more sense now. Trub settles right away, yeast stays suspended in the liquid. pour off that liquid and in another couple days stuff will begin to fall again but this time that will be mostly yeast.

    UPDATE: Beer tastes great, got me buzzed pretty nice. Had to force myself to cut back and save some so i could see how they would be with 3+ weeks of bottle conditioning

    I've never done extract, I started with all grain from a 1 gallon brooklyn brew shop kit. immediately jumped up to a 5 gallon all grain setup. I highly recommend it. i use a 10gallon cooler for my mash/lauter tun
