Good Beers from the Czech Republic

She's not much of a craft beer drinker so I was hoping to get a few suggestions. She's a BMC drinker, who is just starting to try new things.

Good Beers from the Czech Republic

Yeah I kinda figured it would be a lot of lagers, but I assumed some of the local breweries would have something a bit different. And yes, she is going to Prague.

Good Beers from the Czech Republic

Hi all, I have a friend who is traveling to the Czech Republic and is willing to bring me back some beer. What kind should I ask for? I obviously want something I can't get in the states that is big and bold. No light lagers!!! Thanks!!:mug:

    Pressure During Fermentation

I would guess you used some sort of english ale yeast. Those guys always blow up, haha. Back when I fermented in carboys, if I was making a stout with an english ale yeast, I would always put the carboy in the bath tub. I had them complete blow the top off twice until I switched to blow off...

    Dry hopping in kegs--timing question

Yeah There would be no bad flavors from it. The reason I suggested waiting was because I'm a hop head and if the hops are sitting in the keg for the entire life of the first keg (3-4 weeks at my place) before I even get to the second one, the hop flavor bomb will have calmed down a bit :P...

    Dry Hop in Sankey

The sanke spear has some slots in it that you could tie the bag strings to so that the bag doesnt rest fully on the bottom. Just a thought? I dont know how far of the bottom the sanke tube goes, but its gotta pretty darn close, I would think no more than a 1/4".

    Plasma Cutter ~ Cutting Kegs

Every post I have read of someone who used a plasma cutter instead of an angle grinder showed poor results. Plasma cutters make a mess due to all teh melted metal going everywhere and getting stuck on everything. I HIGHLY suggest an angle grinder. I didn't even make a jig. It is super easy...
