    Another "Infection?" Thread...

Makes me more conerned cause it's next to my darker vanilla bourbon ale and it's crystal clear in there... probably due to the large amount of jim beam in there...

    NJ AG n00b

So, I got a pretty solid extract rig going. I brewed 13 5-Gallon batches Labor Day Weekend, and I accomplished my goal (so far) of being able to create beers with flavor profiles I desired... but I just can't lock down the body of a beer I need. I blame this on my extract useage. I have a...

Smells like almost-beer. A little chemically/ammonia smelling I guess... but I may be reaching with that one. More like just alcohol. It's dark, and I feel confident it'll be allright. Haven't tried it yet. Gonna drop some gelatin in the batches I have ready to go and put to kegs soon...

First Lagers - Questions of course...

Hummm.. this looks interesting. I can diacetyl rest by bring it to room temp(cellar temp) for 24-48 hours. This works out pretty well - due to the fact I overestimated the space in my remote fermentation chamber in my parents basement. Since 2 of the lagers aren't in my place, and 1 is... I...

First Lagers - Questions of course...

@Suthrncomfrt1884 Sounds like a good rule of thumb. I'll look into using that... @boo boo Not sure - haven't tested them yet for butter off-flavors. Is there any of definitive test besides opening it up and sampling?

First Lagers - Questions of course...

So, I have three lagers going. 2 of which are in a fermentation chamber... one is sitting in my kegerator. They all have been at a steady 50degF - it'll be three weeks since pitch this coming Wednesday, 9/29. I'm thinking of turning the temp down to lagering temps. How's my timing...
