Recommend Me Some Circuit Breakers / eBrewery Planning

Essentially I don't know if I will end up with a 30a or 50a brew panel, so I figured why not just run for a 50a and it will handle 30a need be, but I am not an electician so not sure on the rules for matching outlets, wires, and breakers. I know you NEVER run more than the wires / breaker / plug...

Do you need a 1 off Stainless part built for your system? Let's discuss it.

So I did some redneck engineering on my own and came up with what I need using 304 stainless tube off amazon and hacking up my SSbrewtech dip tube. All I need is it welded in the same position that it's mocked up with tape :) If anyone out there welds, let me know too. @Jaybird

Recommend Me Some Circuit Breakers / eBrewery Planning

Another question I have is what are the rules and regs regarding adding a subpanel to the garage? Again it would literally be a 12 inch run from the main box to the garage... I want to run a 50a 220v and a 20a 110v but given my main box configuration I don't know if would be better to run each...

Yep it's all outside. The panel is not sealed either, but never had a problem I dunno. The house is new construction only 5 years old so I can't imagine there being any code issues.

Recommend Me Some Circuit Breakers / eBrewery Planning

Hey so I am in the planning stages of going from natural gas BIAB to a 3 vessel setup in my garage. My electrical panel (200A) is on the outside of the garage that I would "relocate" to and the plug would be literally less than 1 foot away from the panel as discovered the only thing between my...

Hornindal Kveik is blowing my mind

Can confirm... great yeast for NEIPA!

    2-vessel HERMS or 3 vessels?

I was trying to decide a similar thing... all electric with RIMS (since I already have a RIMS setup for BIAB) but then I realized that I would need a element to fire the HLT, have the RIMS circuit, and the boil kettle... While it could work needing the SSbrewtech 3V controller for a integrated...

    Brewing Journal

I don't keep a journal per se, but I usually take similar notes on my recipe sheet. I should really keep a journal. The one thing I am terrible at is recording accurate water volumes... Beer smith is awesome, but also suck at figuring out dead space, wort line loss, and whatever.

Hornindal Kveik is blowing my mind

I just kegged a hazy IPA with a 10th generation voss kviek fermented at 94° and it was done in less than 48 hours. Did a cryo hop at 48 hours. 7 days, and into the keg tonight. 1.070 to 1.011. Hydrometer sample was very promising.

    Recommended Drill Bit for SS

A small pilot hole followed by a step bit will likely work ok... SS work hardens very fast so like others said go slow... Other options are a punch, or a tungsten carbide hole saw, but those still need a pilot hole.

20 gallon mash tun for 5-10g batches, am I crazy?

Well I decided to go for it. Don't tell my wife.

Second Ferment using fruit juice , what's a good ratio?

I stopped "secondary" fermenting my kombucha fruit additions unless bottling. I did a mango booch and did 5lbs of fruit in secondary for 7 days. Unfortunately saccharomyces took over in secondary and I ended up with flavorless kombucha. My routine is add to keg to flavor but do not let ferment...

20 gallon mash tun for 5-10g batches, am I crazy?

Thanks for the input... I think it's doable with RIMS. So honest moment... I am in discussions to possibly buy this prototype mash tun which would match the two kettles I just bought. It's an earlier version so it doesn't have the bottom drain and I will need to get a pickup tube made, but it's...

20 gallon mash tun for 5-10g batches, am I crazy?

I know it would be a terrible idea without RIMS or HERMS but for what it's worth I like the idea of potential flexibility given I will likely have a e-hlt, rims mash, and direct fire kettle.

20 gallon mash tun for 5-10g batches, am I crazy?

Long story short I got in on the Grounded Brewing Technologies 15g kettle liquidation and bought 2 kettles. I have for a while been wanting to get into a 3 vessel system and this may be my way of doing it... I currently do 5-6g all grain batches with the rare 10g, but am open to doing 10g more...

    Blichmann Power Controller 240V

Just watched your video Brian and want to say I enjoy your YouTube channel... this boil controller is something of interest to me. I just bought 2 kettles from Grounded Brewing Technologies and was looking at options for electrifying one of them for a HLT. Right now I either BIAB or use a my BK...

    Grounded Brewing Kettle sale.

Essentially you can choose either ball lock style or cam lock disconnects, add them to the valves, and presto! The most simple pump circuit would be out the bottom valve of the kettle to pump inlet, then connect pump outlet to the lower tangential port. That would be for whirlpool / chilling...
