Oxygen free transfer to a bottle using a blowtie spunding valve

For the life of me i cannot figure out how to do an oxygen free transfer to a pet bottle from a corny. A point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. I am pretty sure i need a blowtie, a tee and some carbonation caps but that's about it.

    Voss kviek yeast thoughts

Always found it very clean even at high temps. Typically brew IPA'S and RIS.

    Two Glucoamylase questions

No it has not been an issue, never affected the next batch.. 2.5g sounds good. I actually have a dried pack somewhere. Will see if I can find it.

    Two Glucoamylase questions

In my experience of the liquid stuff you don't need to use the recommended dose. I use 2ml for 25L of wort. I think officially it's about four times that.

    Your experience of Red-X?

I have this fermenting now. Decided to add more wheat so i have enough red left for 2 more batches. I was a bit drunk when brewing so missed my OG by 8 points. Also added some pedio the next day thinking it was brett. Hopefully the IBU's will be high enough to prohibit souring or this beer could...

    Your experience of Red-X?

I would think it would have a similar effect to munich in small amounts. Somewhere between light and dark. That looks a bit orange to me. You should get a decent red hue suitable for an IRA.

    Vigorous ferment, zero krausen

Yes i have had this happen and i do not believe it affects head retention. Had a few strains that don't look like they do anything but the end beer is still good. Never had issues with flat looking beer,

    Lacto starter kicked up again

Do not dump it. Mine forms a krausen. I know it should not (apparantly) but mine is over 2 years old and sours perfectly. I keep mine in a 2l pet bottle and top up with fresh wort after each use. At first i thought i was contaminated like you as I have other lacto that does not do same but the...

    Inconsistent bottles

Sounds like you are adding sugar to your fermentor and stirring? I don't batch prime. I add sugar with a spoon and funnel and each bottle has identical carbonation. Sediment should be uniform in each bottle as well.

    Your experience of Red-X?

I made this before i got my new sack using up all the red-x i had left. I only had a few kilos of red left hence the grainbill but i was extremely happy with this beer. The acidity sits so well with the crystal, i was gutted when i poured the last glass. I like to drink a glass of this with a...

How do i fix my apple cider and turn it to vinegar?

If your cider tastes horrible your vinegar probably will too. I have used this method for making vinegar and works well enough. Apple scrap vinegar >...

    Your experience of Red-X?

@DuncB Have you had a bottle? I saw that the other day somewhere on here. I have had a few and quite enjoyed it, not sure why they call it a sour though but its definitely drinkable. Probably do a raw version and chuck some oak in there. Have 5 or 6 strains of brett. I have done 100% brett beers...

    Lager not lagery enough

What do your beers finish at? I am much happier with mine now they finish at 1004 instead of 1010. Started mashing at 62c. I avoid sulphate and use RO water, about 3g of calcium chloride.

    Your experience of Red-X?

I have done over a hundred lagers now and every now and again i get the urge to try something darker. I really got the idea from a Mexican Vienna lager with corn. For some reason i ended up swapping the corn for rice and had to use bohemian as i had used the Mexican slurry on the previous batch...

    Your experience of Red-X?

Sorry forgot the yeast. I used Mangroves Jacks Bohemian lager Slurry from a previous batch. Lost count of what generation but way over 10.
