    I am currently fermenting Ovaltine.

Did you use a starter? If not I'm sure you under pitched, and your beer will taste like hobo testicles. Next time use mr. malty or your beer will crawl out of your carboy and slap you around. - did I capture the right spirit of the experiment? - I have to admit that since I picked up the...

    Drinking MY first homebrew

Congrats! The sweet taste of success! Now to build up the o'l pipeline; Don't want it to run out!

Nanobrewerys selling clones as their own

Meh, just seems lazy. Defeats the whole point of becoming a brewmaster.

New post a picture of your pint

My robust porter, with my newly installed kegerator in the background.

    Hello from Chicago!

Welcome to the addiction! If you are looking at going AG at some point in the future you should start checking out Brew In A Bag (BIAB). It seems like a straight forward way to get into it with minimal equipment, and a lot of folks on here swear by it.

Bought my first big sack today!

I recently bought my first big sack. $38 for 55# of Canadian 2 row. Great local place. I'm already down 10#.

    How much can you make.

As much as I can drink or give away! No limits up here in the great white north! I just can't engage in anything commercial.

What's your occupation: Engineer or Non-Engineer

I race cars, play tennis, and fondle women, BUT! I have weekends off, and I am my own boss.

    First batch

Take a look at what's available at your LHBS, choose a kit that tickles your fancy. Grab a better pack of yeast while you're there; The yeast inside the kits are a little questionable. It'll all turn out great though, welcome to the addiction!

What Did You Get For Christmas?

I got a temperature adjusting refractometer. Very excited for my next brew day!

Where does everyone get their grains and hops??

I've gotten my Canadian pale from Bedford brewing in Esquimalt. $38 a bag. It depends on where you are in good old Supernatural BC. If you dont have a good local shop, Hopdawgs is probably your best bet as they ate one of the few Canadian online retailers. Beats the heck out of paying an arm and...

American IPA Bee Cave Brewery IPA

Well, if that wort I just put in the carboy is anything to go by, this is going to be nice! Just threw this together at the last minute, but had to sub Zeus for warrior. Everything went ok, though I had a hell of a time maintaining my mash temp. Had to add a quart at 30m to bring it up (somehow...

    Show us your other obsession(s)...

I've done a bit of autocross racing, and dream of doing some proper road racing. I've even managed to go messing around Firebird in a Corvette, which was wicked fun. Now I've got one little one at home, with another on the way, which means I barely have time for brewing, let alone other hobbies.

    Has anyone heard of this?

Yep, poor us. (shhh, dont tell them what it's really like or they'll all come up here)
  16. WestCoastHopper

    Has anyone heard of this?

I wouldn't worry too much. Take a look at Canada customs website before you ship next time and see what that say about the commercial issue. There'll be some definition, and I bet it has more to do with use than volume. The site should list all their policies and regs. Frankly it would not be...

    Jubelale

I've only had the 2011 version, and it's exactly what I want in a Christmas ale. Stupid Canadian customs will only let me bring so much back.

    Jubelale

I'm enjoying one right now, and I heartily agree. The colour really jumps out at me as well as the flavour. Does anyone have a clone? I can't normally get it back home in BC.

    Noob from Windsor, Ontario, Canada

Welcome to the forum fellow Canuck! I don't know much about kegs (I still bottle) but a lot of folks here do. You came to the right place!
