Oh ya, that stuffs nasty. I have a weird permanent mark on my kitchen countertop due to a leaky starsan bottle. Wife wasn't to pleased.

So I made a 2L starter on Thursday. 24 hours later, all went as planed. I had 75G of DME left over and was a little low on my cell count. So I figure I would make a small 750ml starter and have the yeast all revved up for my Sunday brew day. I just got home, Less than 8 hours and BOOM. yeast...

So I have my hop plant coming back for year two. The are about 12 little bines coming up. As I've read here, I should let them all grow. Cut back the few that grow really fast (Bulls?). Then pick 5 (I have a five lines running up the side of my house) and train them. Cut back what ever is left...

A dip in starsan is all you need. I'd suggest a spray bottle filled with starsan. Makes everything a lot easier. As for amount of water, what batch size are you doing? Extract? Full boil or partial? I just let the boil, boil. Once it's going no need to stir.
