How well do these work with pellet hops without mesh on the lid? Could you attach something, say voile, or another fine material, inside to prevent hops from leaving the lid?

My hop crowns from Great Lake Hops aren't doing so well. It appears as if they have gone dormant, perhaps planting too early (beginning of February). I am looking for hop growers in Las Vegas that might we willing to part with some rhizomes. Chinook, Columbus, Centennial, Cascade ... Anyone?
