[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

This is a really good idea, I'm glad my search turned this one up! I haven't worked with a Pi before so I'm eager to learn but I have done work with Arduinos. Question on connections, for Arduino they make these screw connector terminals like this: https://i.imgur.com/0ByiZLK.jpg Do they have...

Mash procedure for Unmalted Wheat and Malted Oats?

My gravity came out a little lower than expected...I usually get 75-85% efficiency but with this batch I only got 65%. The oats were pre-crushed from Northern Brewer but I wonder if maybe a little more milling might have helped?

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

That's a lot of stuff going on back there! OK that gives me some ideas though, my beer lines are currently a mess, having them nicely coiled on top of the kegs is a must. How much length did you go with between keg and tap? I'm thinking I'll just redo the lines, what kind of tubing did you use...

    Safale BE 134 review

Just pitched this on what will become a Belgian Golden Ale...the documentation lists quite a temperature range (64-82F) so I'm wondering what I should target for this. The hops I'm using with this have citrus and banana notes so I feel like some esters wouldn't be a bad thing here. I'm seeking...

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

Cool, thanks for the tips. I checked out the flow meters, those swissflow ones are A LOT more expensive! Like $60 apiece vs $10. Do the adafruit ones work just as well? And/or are they a pain to setup compared to SwissFlow models? With 4 taps, this will become a pricey endeavor! Also, from what...

Mash procedure for Unmalted Wheat and Malted Oats?

I've never brewed with either of these before and this recipe calls for both so I was curious if there were any changes to the process or my temps or anything else I need to keep an eye on. Here's the grain bill: 8.5 lb American - Pale 2-Row (73.9%) 2 lb Belgian - Unmalted Wheat (17.4%) 1 lb...

    IPA an Hop Creep??

Yep for most ales that's going to be about right, but as always with the caveat that different yeasts work at different paces yadda yadda

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

This is going to be my next project and this thread looks like it has a wealth of knowledge and people contributing to it. But I'm not finding a definitive hardware/parts list to get started with, is there not a single page sticky that defines this? With all the versions of RaspberryPi (not to...

    Sanitizer

That's what I do too. Fill the keg with warm water and PBW, put the dip tube back in and give it a good shake, let it stand 20-30 mins then scrub the inside with a long brush, shake it up again then empty and rinse well 2-3 times to get all the PBW out. Then fill with water+star san solution...

Help please... Is my batch ruined

I doubt you have anything to worry about. Had you left it a long time after fermentation you might have some problems but any O2 exposure here will be minimal

    This. Works like a charm.

    High OG

I had something similar happen when I was learning the ropes, turned out to be an error converting to metric and I wound up putting almost twice the required amount of extract in the brew...wound up with a weird but drinkable 9.5% beer instead of the expected 5%

    Octoberfest Recipe Critique

I thought the same...the part where he said "I gave up trying to create something on my own about 15 years ago after making several batches of mud. There are so many good recipes already in the world that I came to the conclusion there is no sense trying to reinvent the wheel." made me think he...

    Warm Fermented Lager Thread

I have a Belgian Golden Ale on deck next but probably the next one in line after that will be a beautiful Marzen I made last year. Last year I brewed it with WLP840 but I'd like to give this WF a whirl. Do you guys have a list of yeasts compiled for this that I can check out? Or alternately can...

    Siphoning sucks?

I have 2 ports at the top of my fermenter. What I've been trying lately is during fermentation I will plug one of them and leave a racking cane all ready to go in the other...the tubing connected to it has it's open end in a bottle of starsan + water to vent the excess CO2. When I'm ready to...

    Brewed yesterday

1 gal batches were how I learned...it allows you to make lots of mistakes and learn from them...and early on I definitely made a lot of mistakes :D I'd brew 4 different 1-gallons at the same time and experiment with them and see what worked and what didn't. It also forces you to hone your...

    Slow Ferment

Yep @Nagorg , i had a saison run that long once but I just wrote it off to the yeast (WLP-590 French Saison). It never stopped bubbling, it just chugged thru the wort at a really slow pace for some reason. It turned out fantastic though so if and when I do that one again I'll have to see if it...
