    Kirkland Apple juice. First cider

So for a couple of years I’ve been wanting to experiment with fermenting apple juice. There’s so much apple juice out there I figured to give it a whirl. I picked up 6 gallons of Kirkland apple juice. Sanitized a carboy, poured in 5 gallons then pitched the dry belle saison yeast. I checked on...

1 brew 2 beers Pale Ale and Saison with White Peach

Yea i did think about that. Also was thinking of splitting the batch at 45 mins so the Saison wouldn’t have that much hops. It is the high end of the ibu spectrum for the Saison style. I could just leave out the galaxy boil addition and save the galaxy hops for second dry hop addition.

    Hop Selections for German Pils

Brewed this beer using saaz and mitlefruh. Beer turned out great. Scored a 36 in a local competition. My friend who brewed with me entered his sharing of the brew in the World Cup of beer comp and placed 1st in Pilsner category.

1 brew 2 beers Pale Ale and Saison with White Peach

Hey fellow home brewers! I’m going to go over a simple recipe and produce 2 different styles of beer using 2 different dry yeast. I tend to buy in bulk. I always have dry yeast in hand. I’m sure some of you may plan a brew last minute on the fly but don’t have time to order any ingredients...

    West Coast IPA thoughts

Recipe looks good. Just mash at 148-150. Im sure your beer finish 1.013-1.010. I would probably add each hop separate instead of as a combo. 15 min .75 oz chinook 10 min .75 oz Columbus 5 min 1 oz cascade FO 1 oz each Dry hop with an oz each taste before adding the second round of hops. If...

    Hop Selections for German Pils

Not to ignore the hop Region rant. Which is some knowledge. I’m leaning more toward that Boho pils. I want more hop bite and I’m curious to know about a good water profile for Czech/ bohemian pils. I use RO water.

    Hop Selections for German Pils

Thanks for the hops info. Yea a good friend of mine gave me a pound of each hop about a year ago. They’ve just been chillin in the back of my freezer. Need to use but this beer is for competition so I may just buy some saaz since I’m going for style. I’ll just have to brew more to use up these hops.

    Hop Selections for German Pils

Hello! I’m planning on brewing a German Pilsner soon. Going with either Weyermann or Best for my Base malt. Hops I have stocked in my freezer are Perle, Northern Brewer, and huell melon. Going for a traditional German Pilsner. All German ingredients. Just wanted some opinions on the hops I...

    Brown Ale recipe

I don’t brew extract but for your specialty grains it’s a good baseline. I’d step up the chocolate malt up to .5lb. See what’s in your dark dme. It may have what you are already adding to it. MAybe start with a light dme, throw in the .5 chocolate, .25 biscuit, I’d throw in some carafa 2, maybe...

    Pellicle forming after fermention

Hello, Fermented a brown ale with dry London esb yeast from Lallemand. It stood at 1.022 for a few days. I gave it another 5 days and it was at the same gravity. I figured since I’ll be out of town for another 5 days I’ll cold crash when I get back. When I got home I saw pellicle forming. I...
