    Liquid yeast via mail

I'm looking at obtaining liquid yeast online. I don't have a local brew shop so it's either a 3 hour drive or mail order. Does anyone have a bad experience with getting liquid yeast in the mail d/t hot summer months? It will be shipped with ice packs, however, I still have my reservations.

Fermentation bucket with lingering beer smell

My fermentation bucket has a lingering beer smell despite being washed since last brew. Is this something that can affect the flavor/aroma of my next batch?

    Fermentation

So today I was checking on the hard cider I'm brewing for my wife from an extract kit and I noticed that the bubbling had slowed down considerable so I opened the lid to do a SG check. I was in and out in under a minute and resealed my fermentation bucket. It wasn't quite there as I was looking...

    Carboy carrier vs handle

That's a really nice design. Have you used it to transport full carboys??

    Carboy carrier vs handle

I want to invest in something to make it easier for my to carry my carboys full of home brew. Lifting it out of the converted chest freezer I use to cold crash is quite laborious and I'm concerned one of these days, I'll have a broken carboy and even worse, spoiled home brew. I have been doing...

Taking extract to the next level

I have been brewing with extract for awhile and am looking to take it to the next level. I'm not quite ready for all grain but would like more autonomy with my extract recipes. Does anyone have some ideas about how I could accomplish this? Thanks

    Fruit Purée

Has anyone tried using fruit puree in extract brewing? My local brew shop sells some fruit purée for brewing and I was thinking about making an apricot ale. Is this appropriate for extract brewing, and if so, when should it be implemented? Thanks

    Psi

I keep the gas on at all times. It does not really drop below 10. I have checked for leaks in the system using a solution of star san and water and have not found any.

    Psi

I have the PSI on my regulator set to 12 currently and I'm noticing that it's losing pressure.. I check it daily and it's usually dropped down to around 10. Any ideas what may be causing this??? There are no leaks in the system. Thanks

    Cold Crashing

Does anyone have alternate suggestions for cold crashing a fermenter? I like to do it in my kegerator, however, I already have keg on tap and can't fit my fermenter. What are some other methods I could use to cold crash prior to kegging?
