    What I did for beer today

    Took a gravity reading of my pale ale. Down to 1.009 from 1.050 on Saturday. I’m going to need to buy a new fridge just to store all of the Kveik I’m about to buy. Smells so good. Orange, mango, pineapple. Yum.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

    Brewed a pale ale with Golden Promise, Red X and Flaked Wheat. Pitched Voss Kveik at 100 degrees and it has already went from 1.050 to 10.14 in less than 24 hours

    90% Pilsner 5% Vienna 5% White Wheat Mashed at 150F 60 min Tettnang and a small dose of Hersbrucker at 10 mins to get to 26 IBU I used Safale K-97 and fermented at 58 degrees f for 4 days, then left at room temperature for another 6. Force carbonated at 10 psi in my kegerator for 2 weeks. Did...

    My buddy came over to drink my HB Kolsch. One more pint and I’ll be fearless and handsome. This may be the best beer I’ve brewed so far.

    Finally jumping on the Kveik (Voss) train this weekend. Brewing a pale ale for a friend’s birthday party. 80% Golden Promise 15% Red X 5% Flaked Wheat A ton of strata late in the boil and a huge whirlpool addition. No dry hopping.

    I think a cold IPA means it is technically a hoppy lager. The cold is a reference to “cold” fermentation. I think they call it Cold IPA Now instead of IPL because IPAs are sexy now.

    Tree House Very Hazy. Fresh from the tap at the brewery. This is the best DIPA I’ve ever had.

    Currently in Wellesley. Headed up to Maine tomorrow afternoon. Today I’m planning on hitting up Tree House, then Trillium before a Red Sox game :). As for styles: anything but rauchbier or sours. While I’m up here, I’ll likely have lots of hazies though 😊
