    Stalled Fermentation?

I’m a bit puzzled. I’ve been brewing for several years and have never had a stalled fermentation, but I think that is what I’m dealing with here. I pitched yeast Sunday morning. I ferment in this King Junior with a blowoff tube attached and at no point has there been any bubbling. I have...

What I did for beer today

Installed some new tap handles and a drip tray. Yes, I realize it isn’t big enough for all three taps. I never have 3 on anyway 😎 If you are looking for an easy magnetic solution for a drip tray on a keezer, this CMS Magnetics tray does the job. You can find it on Amazon for about $20. Cheers!

What I did for beer today

Finally got around to fixing up a keezer I bought over a year ago. I don’t have a before picture, but it looks much better. The little keg is my German Pils and the King Junior has my Oktoberfest that is currently lagering. Prost!

Cold Crashing in an Anvil King Junior

Does anyone have a suggestion for cold crashing in an Anvil King Junior, or any similar type of plastic pressure fermenter? I’ve tried it once, and because a dunce, I didn’t realize the temperature change would cause it to dent inwards. It didn’t do any permanent damage, but I know it can’t be...

What is your home brewery's name?

After 10 years, I think I have finally figured out my home brewery name. Tau Brewing. Simple, but with a lot of meaning for me - I love St. Francis https://aleteia.org/2014/10/28/what-is-the-meaning-of-the-cross-so-loved-by-st-francis/ Now I need to get some beer glasses made with the logo.

What I did for beer today

Marzen brew day is complete. I did a decoction mash because I hate myself. I tried to compensate for the high efficiency I have been having, and by doing so I went a little lower than expected on the original gravity. 1.049. I’m using a high attenuating yeast (s-189) so it will probably...

    Don't Do That.

Accidentally shutting the door to kegerator/fermentation chamber without making sure the temperature probe is inside. Don’t do that. Luckily the Pilsner was nearly kicked and I need to move over my new Pilsner from the other ferm chamber to put on tap. Now I’m wondering what, if anything...

What I did for beer today

Newest version of my German Pils. Down to 1.010. I did a (single) decoction mash this time vs a single infusion mash on the last one. Also lightened up on the flavor/aroma hops. Interested to see how that changes it.
