    Infection?

Damn. That’s my first infection. Thanks, guys.

    Infection?

If it helps, all I have done the last few days has been to raise it to 68F for a d rest.

    Infection?

Yes it is. It is a sealed fermenter.

    Infection?

Here we go again. I was about to cold crash this and noticed this white stuff floating around now. Yeast rafts or something icky?

What I did for beer today

Took a final gravity reading of my Dunkel. 1.014. Hoping to have this one on tap by 11/4 😎

Mystery Roadside Hops and Gifted Grains

It’s going to be very cheap and easy brew day and if it sucks, it won’t be a huge deal. I’m going to use Lutra, so I won’t have to wait very long to find out how it turns out 🙃

Mystery Roadside Hops and Gifted Grains

Well darn. That’s what I get for not reading the full article. We’ll see how it goes.

Mystery Roadside Hops and Gifted Grains

Oh fudge. I followed the advice here: “Package Your HopsA vacuum seal is ideal for this process, but not necessary. You'll flatten out and crush your pretty little hop cones, but it's for their own good! You don't want any oxygen contaminating and ruining all your hard work. Label them with the...

Mystery Roadside Hops and Gifted Grains

I picked them and took them home and vacuum sealed and threw them in the freezer. I couldn’t use them right away so I figured that was the next best thing 😎

Mystery Roadside Hops and Gifted Grains

Great info, thanks. I am pretty set in making the 3 gallon batch as I will be sharing a good bit of it with friends. Should I just attempt to fry them out? Could I do this in the oven?

Mystery Roadside Hops and Gifted Grains

Alright, this should be fun. I live by and frequent a neighborhood (Winston-Salem, NC) beer bar where a ton of regulars like to hang out. We even have a “lawn guy” that mows the grass and, I **** you not, grows an unsanctioned garden by the roadside. In this garden, there are hops! I’m not sure...

    Infection?

I haven’t opened the fermenter at all. Those are close up pics in a sealed King Junior.

    Infection?

I haven’t opened anything. It is in a sealed Anvil King Junior. The pics are close up shots from the outside.

    Infection?

Good to hear. But… In returned today from a work trip and now it looks even worse. Not the protein, but the bubbles. Maybe I am being paranoid, but it just doesn’t look right.
  18. mattman91

    Infection?

Yes, the gravity was down to 1.016 from 1.054. Meant to add that. Didn’t taste it, but it smelled good.

    Infection?

I’ve never had an infection before, but this just doesn’t look right. I posted over on the fermentation forum the other day about having a very thin krausen and no bubbling in my airlock. I found that to be weird as I use an Anvil King Junior and tested for leaks. The attenuation is coming...

    Stalled Fermentation?

I went ahead and hooked up gas and it did not show signs of a noticeable leak. I took a sample and the gravity is down to 1.016, so I think we are all good. Weird.
