    So, I read on here about Apfelwein and I am interested in making it. My only worry is that it is very dry. I know you can sweeten it, but sweet doesnt always equal not dry. How dry is this stuff?

    I pay the 5ish dollars for 6 gallons of spring water. Its premeasured and easy to get into the pot. Plus I dont worry about the water having anything in it.

    Oxyclean did the deed. Worked like a charm. ONly about 20 minutes and the lables were falling off or floating. I used a whole scoop in a 5 gal bucket. I just rinsed the crap out of them to be safe.

    Or is this an infection? There are clear bubbles now below the thick foam (those floaty thing are cloves and ginger). And it is also now breaking through the foam in vein like streaks.

    So I have a butt load of commercial beer bottles. I just cleaned out 45 of them with boiling water and a SMALL amount of bleach. The person who gave them to me does not rinse their bottles out so I wanted to loosen any mold and crap in side them. I was hoping the boiling water would loosen...

    So I have read a bunch about people using blow off tubes. Are there common style of beers or yeasts that need blow off tubes or is it more of a random thing?
