    Sam in Western Massachusetts

First, welcome. 2nd, yes, you will need to start over. 3rd, 5 packets of yeast? For 5 one gallon batches? In reality, you only need 1 packet for a 5 gallon batch. Search the cider forum, and I'm sure you will find a good recipe, but it looks like you are trying to do this on a minuscule...

First PM - OG way low. I thought I did everything perfectly?

Didn't read the whole thread so my apologies if this has been asked. What was the temp of your hydro sample?

How long does your bottling take?

Using Revvys method but adapted to my space, I can bottle a 5gallon batch start (sanitizing bottles) to finish (fermentor and bottling bucket clean and put away, bottling area cleaned up) in an hour 15. That includes soaking the plastic.

Who wants to buy me a nice extract kit for christmas?

Occupy All-Grain! Research BIAB and go buy the ingredients. Won't set you back much from my understanding. My all grain batches have been just a hair over $20/batch at the LHBS.

    Wort chiller question

I had the same issue when I made mine. Made a n00b mistake. While the corny was in the kettle for clearance purposes, it cleared the probe fine. Didn't take into account how much the copper would loosen when I took it off the keg. The probe gets in the way, but the chiller works fine. I'd...

    Mash Tun Question???

I've not had an issue with mine so far. But I saw someone make a spring like contraption with SS wire and slide it inside the braid. That allows you to shape it if you want to, but also keeps it from collapsing.

    Big wine barrel wheat

From what I understand, sour beers are your best bet in a used wine barrel. And those could take a year or more. Do you have a club? If I were you, I would have a club brew day and rack 11 (or 6) batches into it, and then let it go to town. Get together and take samples every few months, and...

    I love sales! Burner!!!

Yea, I noticed that when I took it out of the box. I already had one but figured for that price, I should have another. Could have started on a crappy brew stand if I had 3. May go grab another tonight. There are threads about how to defeat the timer.

    Show us your Kegerator

hahahaha. that'd be a horrible thing to come across. still been thinking really hard about the paint. When i was at home depot yesterday picking up some spray insulation and a 1 inch bit, i looked around the spray paint section, and didn't really find anything i liked, so I figured i would...
