How many gallons of mead - 2019

I did about 20 gallons I think, plus or minus a little for the lees.

    Filtering out Lees...

bentonite is really nice, It looks pretty gross when you first use it, It will give everything a grey tinge but after a week or so letting it sit, It will be amazingly clear, At least it has in my experience. I use it every time.

For sure, I dont typically like aging in oak but Ive done it a few times. If you make a ton of different kinds it all blends together which is alright sometimes but I found the oak cubes give me the level of control that I like.

Yeah, I need to figure out of I melt a wine bottle if it weakens the structural integrity, because if not Ill just melt a ton and then everyone will have a completly unique bottle which would be awesome

I really enjoy the wildflower honey or Clover honey because it adds that earthy element. I usually throw a smoked oak cube in there as my signature, gives it a nice barrel flavor

first mead and I think it's stuck?

I wouldn't worry too much about it, If you like it then drink it, I agree with CKuhns if you want it to be stronger try a bit of water and add a more aggressive yeast, Ive had to do that in the past.

    Blueberry Melomel

Very Nice! I have my blueberry and blackberry going right now, I used local wildflower honey that I got pretty cheap beacuse It was what was left after they bottled everything so I got it in a bucket, still about 8 pounds though of perfectly good premium northwest honey. I used the same batch of...

I like that, I think we are going to stick with Tiny Tree Meadery and have a minimalistic tree made of honeycomb. Looking for interesting bottles to use to bottle to be a little "Different" I found a curved wine bottle that was pretty cool but I cant find it again. It was like the top was melted...

    Off Flavours On Mango

Has anyone had any off flavours with mangos, I have a peach mango mead going right now and I left the skin on about 20% of the mango slices, the rest are just the mango meat. Does anyone have any experience on using mangos? should I remove all of the skin or add more skin?

Im trying to decide if I want a minimalist bonsai style tree solid black or if I want to make it out of a honeycomb pattern, Will have to gather a focus group with the rest of the team and see what they say.

    Meadary Names

Im starting to branch out into a lot of different kinds of mead with a few other guys that know what they are doing as well, We are looking to come up with a name for our meadery operation. We need something to put on a business card and hand out to potential partners for local honey and fruits...

    Meader? Meaderer?

Interesting, I found a natural spring a while back, it was up the mountain a way and I would always drink from it as a kid, the freshest best tasting water I've ever had. I still had some in a bottle and decided to send it to the college lab to get it tested to see what was in it and if it was...

    Meader? Meaderer?

What do you call someone who makes mead? Its not a brewer right? Fermenter maybe? surely its not Meader. Been racking (lol) my brain all day trying to find the right phrase.

    Electronic Mead

my previous post should have explained everything. I probably missed a few things but if you have any questions let me know. The Operating system is pretty much done, Just waiting on the sensors to get here and then get good at soldering real fast.
  20. MaxTheSpy

    Electronic Mead

That is mostly incorrect, You can find good sensors pretty cheap, usually under $100. Brewing sensors are expensive but If you take a normal PH sensor and coat everything but the sensor, It will last a pretty long time. As for how far I'm going to go, I'm planning to develop BrewOS or MeadOS...
