Found this post from 2012 on the hombrewers assosiation page I did this to a cider, 1 can at kegging as priming sugar. It was awesome best cider ever. It also fermented out in the keg after a month, for what its worth. Watch out for sulfites on the label those are meant to kill yeast and stop...

What's your favorite honey for mead?

I have had mexican honey, and while it is different its still really really good. I stayed in Costa Rica for 3 months working on a sugar cane plantation and made some mead for the workers there using local honey from our island and it was amazingly good and dirt cheap, think I paid less than 2...

What's your favorite honey for mead?

The easiest way to do that is to buy from a local beekeeper and start that relationship. When you scale up and start making bigger batches if you and the keeper are friendly, things will be a lot easier, I was able to secure a big batch of honey not only at a discount but also held back for me...

What's your favorite honey for mead?

I go see 2 local Oregon beekeepers every few weeks and do what I can to help out and buy honey just about every time Im there for brew day. I generally pay 75-80 dollars per gallon of their honey. I dont mind at all paying the extra price for a premium product that people near me have worked so...

What's your favorite honey for mead?

I dont think that it would be garbage honey, but it almost certainly would be bulk average honey and would not be the best. Part of making mead in my opinion is supporting local bee keepers and farmers. If you have the opportunity I would source local honey and help out the community.

I blew up the sceling in my class room in highschool with an overactive yeast... Turns out by the time I was called into the pricipals office the teacher said that it was a test for his next weeks lesson that didnt turn out. As a homebrewer himself he was always covering for me.

    Yeast Help

Haha, That's True, I'm going to make 2 test batches using a yeast that's supposed to do better with fruit but I'm not sure if it will really make a difference. I just find it odd that stats like that could be so off. I might start keeping track of the different yeast strains and the respective...

I would like some insight from those smarter than me, I've been using Redstar Premier Blanc for the last 4-5 years using other yeasts very rarely. I decided to actually look up the specs on Premier Blanc and this is what I found: Species: Wine Fermentation Temp Range (°F) : 59-86 Apparent...
