    Flip Top Glass Bottles

ALDI & Lidl are both here. The lemonade is sold under the ALDI brand name, but a little poking around on the interwebs and one person reports that the markings on the bottle indicate that it is indeed made by Lorina. Evidently, Lorina bottles this for ALDI to sell under their store brand. My...

    Stupid Joke Thread!

Yer mamma’s so fat she leaves the house in high heels and comes back in flip-flops!

    Flip Top Glass Bottles

I believe you! We just picked up a bottle of carbonated lemonade in a flip-top at ALDI this week. It had a LOT of pressure in it and is a heavy bottle. The bottle and soda was alas, from France. 🇫🇷

    Don't Do That.

Are you sure your dog didn’t walk by and lift a leg in that direction when you weren’t looking?

Could I use a syringe through a ball lock to add gelatin finings?

Oh trust me; it’s a real thing. I have had two surprising, unwanted showers! The first time, it was sugar water. The second time it was a gelatin mix. Yeah, I’m a slow learner. For more laughs, check out my post below. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/threads/dont-do-that.527228/post-10466618

Don’t ditch your rig though; you can also use it to inject dissolved sugar to carbonate your kegs naturally rather than using up your tank gas. I also add a little ascorbic acid with the sugar.

    Blonde ale = Kölsch ?

Kansas City is closer: 🎶”They’ve got some crazy little women there, and I’m gonna get me one!”

    Blonde ale = Kölsch ?

We do this for all kinds of things, so why not our beer? Kleenex is a brand name of Kimberly-Clark Co., but many of us ask for a kleenex rather than a facial tissue. We put our hot coffee in a thermos; not a vacuum-insulated flask. I tend to use a generic name for a style like “Irish Dry...

    Blonde ale = Kölsch ?

I don’t brew my Irish Dry Stout in Ireland I don’t brew my English Brown Ale in England I don’t brew my Mexican Lager in Mexico My IPA has never been shipped to India I don’t brew my Kölsch in Germany Heck fire; I barely even have hair and none has ever been blonde when I brew a Blonde Ale! But...

Cooling my Anvil SS 7.5 bucket FV - is this going to work?

Hey, I am not criticizing; I am here to learn too! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate what I have learned from the guys here. I enjoy the back& forth challenge of ideas/procedures. I think it’s good to be challenged to defend yourself; makes you really think things through. As far as the...

    For Sale SOLD

It pays to be careful. Made a couple purchases here; all good. I’ve even done a few Craigslist buys. Really have to be careful there. A fellow in town bought a car on CL, and when they met him at the Walmart parking lot; they robbed of the cash he brought. It’s not always a sure deal, but if...

Cooling my Anvil SS 7.5 bucket FV - is this going to work?

Wow! What size pump are you using that can function with ½” and 5/8” lines? My lines are ¼” and the pump is tiny; about the size of a phone charger. It has no problem chilling a 10 gallon batch in a 13 gallon fermenter. It’s not necessary to have the water moving extremely fast through the...

    Blonde ale = Kölsch ?

If you’re using an iPhone, search “text replacement” and you should get the details. On my phone, I go to “Settings”, “General”, “Keyboard”, “Text Replacement”. I don’t know about different modes, or makes. It’s great for phrases I text often like “omw” becomes “On my way!”

Cooling my Anvil SS 7.5 bucket FV - is this going to work?

I’m certainly no expert in fluid mechanics or pumps and such. I would think that minimizing the lift, or height the pump has raise the water would be a critical factor. I also am going out on a limb and saying that the smallest diameter in your system is the critical factor regardless of what...

    New Lalbrew Farmhouse yeast

I’m trying a compromise. In spite of all the reasoning here by folks much smarter than I am, my experience just delivers overcarbed kegs when I try natural carbonation. So here’s the plan. I am only putting 7 oz of corn sugar into my 10 gallon keg of Kölsch. My hope is that this will get me...

Sold Dual faucet tap tower - free to a good home - you pay shipping

Still interested. I am not looking for something fancy; just something to attach to a jockey box. I had two taps out the side last summer, but it got annoying bending over to draw a pint. I also have a single tap kegerator, but I typically keep two 5’s inside. This would be a nice upgrade over a...

    New Lalbrew Farmhouse yeast

I won’t pretend to know why, but when I used 5oz sugar in my kegs, I always get overcarbed beer. I reduced the amount to 4 oz. for a recent blonde ale and it still overcarbed. I have had it in the kegerator a couple weeks now, and have yet had to use much bottled CO₂. With my first pour, I just...
