I have a small 5.0 CF keezer which I built an 8" collar for. 2 - 5 gallon cornys fit nice and snug on the bottom along with the 5lb tank and regulator which sits on the hump.
I moved my Co2 tank outside the keezer so its easier for me to monitor the gauges and free up some space inside.
Now...
Hello, I have a keezer with a 3 way gas line distributor that has the inlet from the regulator on the right hand side and a plug on the left.
My question is, can I swap the plug and inlet barb so the inlet will be on the left instead? This model does have a check valve
Anyone know if this...
Wasnt sure where to post this but its all in 5 gal corny kegs so here goes..
Making a PB and chocolate stout. Plan on close transferring from fermenting keg to a secondary keg that has the PB and chocolate in it already.
2 questions.
1 - Should I put my PB and cocoa nibs into bags in the...
Looking for a free program to display my taplist. Doesnt need all the integrations as I dont have plato or anything.
I have a monitor above my keezer and just thought it would be cool to display whats on tap. If I like the app I may consider getting a Plato setup and integrating and paying the...
My fermentor is a 5 gallon corny keg - usually the only time I get a gravity reading is by putting pressure to the ferementor and use a liquid line with a picnic tap to pour. This usually only happens when Im ready to transfer to my serving keg. I have never taken a reading before I was ready...
Hello all,
Brewing what i believe to be a simple Bock recipe. 3 Grains, 1 hop and German Lager yeast. Small batch - only 3 gallons.
First small batch, first time using Gigawort brew system and first time using lager yeast.
Brew day went off without too many issues - Biggest one was I broke...
Hmm. Never thought of that. So basically you are using the leftover wort from your brew to use as your starter wort? And you say you freeze the wort you collect from your brew?
Thanks everyone for the replies. I plan to let the starter sit until at least Saturday afternoon, which will be 48 hrs. Then I will cold crash and probably brew Sunday sometime. I will try to chill my wort to 55 degrees before pitching - and attempt to have my starter at a similar temp. SO...
ok so I made my starter last night. Chilled my wort to just under 70 and pitched. Its on the stir plate now but Im not seeing much activity. I plan to cold crash it tonight and brew on Saturday. Does anyone know how long you should cold crash - in other words, whats the minimum time for cold...
Getting a huge grain order and was looking for something to store it in. Thought of a 55 gallon metal drum with locking gasket lid - to keep moisture and mice out of it.
Going to use a couple of extra size garbage bags to line it with first.
Does anyone see an issue with this?
Making a small batch (3.25 gallons) of traditional Bock.
Couldnt find the Bock Yeast so I ended up going with White Labs German Lager Yeast.
Never used this yeast strain before and it says it ferments between 50F and 55F.
I have a couple questions. 1st, when I make my starter I normally...
I've got a bunch of citrus hops but they don't fit the style (azzaca, citra, Columbus, centennial, cascade, and cashmere) I might see if I can find another homebrew shop that has halertau, cause that's what I really wanted to use.
Couldnt find the hops I wanted to use in my recipe.
I felt Fuggles was the closest. THey didnt have tettnang, Hallertau or many other choices for german hops.
I picked up Northern Brewer but the Alpha Acids were 14% and I read that hops high in alhpa acids can produce flavors that arent...
So I wanted to do smaller batches and Ive been eyeing an Anvil Foundry for awhile but have never had the cash to do so.
Found a used Gigawort 4.4gallon on craigslist for cheap so I scooped it up.
In testing with water it seems to do a fine job of bringing to temp and the temps seem pretty...
