will a 7.2 cubic ft. chest freezer fit 4 courney kegs?

That's gonna be a tight fit; the internal height is 23 1/4" and if I remember right a corny keg is 23" tall. Reference: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/sizing-your-chest-freezer-corny-kegs-75449/#post886974

    Espresso brewers, roasters, lovers...

Certainly. We have a Rancilio Rocky grinder (doserless kind) and that purchase alone greatly improved the quality of our coffee. Even on our old machine, I can take Caribou's own Espresso blend that they use in the drinks they serve, run it through our grinder and produce better tasting shots...

    Apfelwein

Here's EdWort's notes on his Apfelwein recipe: You can read the full post here: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f25/man-i-love-apfelwein-14860/

Please help, added malto-dextrin at 15... is this ok?

Not so much "screw something up" as "try something a little different". :) :mug: G'luck, I'm sure it'll be great!

    Espresso brewers, roasters, lovers...

I cleaned up to the gasket but hadn't gotten around to taking it out. I'm checking that next, thanks for the idea. Grounds were definitely all over the place, but I'm attributing that to the last time I let a friend make themselves a latte on the machine. And after that, it's now literally the...

    Espresso brewers, roasters, lovers...

Does a phenomenal job generally. I'm having an issue with water leaking around the portafilter, though, despite vigorous cleaning and proper puck size. Haven't had time to look closer at it, but one thing's for sure: the machine is easy to work with, inside and out. Had to replace the 2-way...

    Espresso brewers, roasters, lovers...

Don't mind me if I raise the dead (posts) over here, but it's refreshing as much as it's unsurprising to find more espresso nuts up here. :) When I first met my wife, she had finally done the math and figured out buying a basic good espresso machine (in this case, a Gaggia Classic) was cheaper...

    Hello from Chicago...

Welcome! I actually picked up my gear originally from the Home Brew Shop in St. Charles, although I've done my shopping since then at the Grow and Brew in Roselle since it's on my way home (Elgin) from work (Schaumburg). I've also heard the same mutterings about the Two Brother's shop, that it...

    Epic Pizza

+42 to Chicago-style pizza. ;) Actually, cast iron is the same way my wife makes her breads nowadays. She just tosses a 5 quart cast iron pot straight into the oven to pre-heat it, adds the dough when it's ready, then bakes it in the pot. Out pops perfectly awesome bread every time. (She...

    New from the chi town

Howdy man, welcome to the forums. I'm straight north of ya up in Elgin. I've only just started out brewing so my setup is still hands-on. ;)

Oh S&%# - 1 gal of iodophor solution in the fermenter!

Congrats, you found one of the few situations where "dump it" is the correct and highly suggested route. ;) Condolences on the screw up, that sucks man.

    Back Again

I think it's amusing that you have a quote that says "May your beer never be empty", yet your primary and secondary and keg are all "empty." ;) Welcome back, happy brewing, bud! :mug:

    Bottled a Stout!

Hell yeah, nice pile'o bugs there. We did a 20-pound boil (plus 10 pounds of shrimp) for my birthday earlier this month. Good times, good eats, good friends.

Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer Double Chocolate Oatmeal Snout

Howdy. I think I'm gonna tack on your brew to the end of my queue (I have a few non-mash recipes I want to try before building a MLT and going deeper down the brewing rabbit hole) cause I've loved just about every other choco-oat stout I've had. To your thought about espresso, the flavors...

    Bottled a Stout!

Nice, man, sounds delicious! Can't wait to add a stout to my queue, I might see what inspires me at the bar tonight. :)

    Instructions vs Experience

What they said. I just bottled my first beer ever on Saturday, and I used the instructions only until I got to the part where I added the wort to my fermenter, and from there I went with advice from friends, this site and Palmer's "How to Brew". From thereon out, the instructions have been used...
