    Cleaning Kegs?

    How often should i fully break down my corni's and clean them, you know taking apart the valves etc... I should just be able to run some sanitizer though the system and be ok? Let me know. Cheers.:drunk:

    Dave-M, Check the specific gravity, when that stays the same for 2 days you can go ahead and rack to the secondary, relax and have a homebrew:mug:

    Tempeture question

    its a belgain white clone, although its looking more amber right now i really dont see it turning a white/ hazy color, although it tastes delicious, i just think i stirred too much when i should have just left it alone.

    My brew in in the secondary now, when it was fermenting my basement was around 70-72 which was perfect, now that its hotter out we arent running the heat so my basement is around 63-65, is this ok for the beer or should i move it to a warmer place?

    How long is a good time for a brew to stay in the 2ndary? Im brewing a beligain white hoegarden clone. Is it normal for the top to be a lot lighter then the bottom, I know its going to take time for the beer to settle but i have two cornys coming in about a week so would it be ok to transfer...

    Krausen?

    there is some chunky mess/ globs of krausen on the top of my primary... is it ok to transfer to the carboy? its not foamy just right on the surface, it almost looks like chunks of yeast. Should I let that fall before transferring or will that always be there. the FG is at 1.012 and steady.

    SG at 1.014 @ 68 degrees? Carboy time?

    My hoegarrden clone has been in primary for 5 days now, the bubbles have slowed and the SG is at 1.014? do you think its time to move it to the carboy? :mug:

    Thanks Rich, I gotta master this whole waiting game. My buddies and I are going in on 3 5gal corni kegs so we can drink sooner, waiting= less delicous homebrew. We are thinking we can time the 3 corni kegs so we always have homebrew on the weekends, would be pretty sweet.

    bubbles slowing down

    So my primary has been fermenting for only 36 hours and the time between bubbles is about 15-20 seconds, if by tomorrow its a minute should i go ahead and transfer to the carboy? or just wait the full week even though there will be no activity by then?

    I strained all the grains and hops and all that jazz out when it went into the primary so i guess your right, there shouldnt really be that much in it. Thanks again for your help.

    Cweston, yeah my tube has this little back cap on the bottom, is that about how much crud will be left? not more then that 1/2 inch or so?
