    Beer hose rated for what temp on hot side?

    Anyone know? I'm thinking of replacing the silicone seal on my B3 tippy dump with a seal made from beer line. The seal it came with has always been problematic and it has a small rip and won't stay on now.

    I have 2 to make starters in for my 20 gallon batches...love them. Only thing, don't tighten the couplings too tight...plastic strips easy and use way more tape than they suggest.

    Mexican lager, tastes fine, 2.5 weeks in the primary at 53 degrees...2.5 days at 68 diacetyl rest. OG 1.051...FG 1.010. Went to harvest...I get this. Only thing i can think of is I dropped to 45 degrees prior to harvesting...have since raised it up again but still clogged. Any...

    Refractometer. Better, worse, complicated, imprecise? Always been a hydrometer man but my tube cracked. I can't read ph paper to save my life. None of the colors look right. Will this mess me up?

    Larger quantities of yeast, that's 2 quarts...warm it up and pitch. I'm making 20 gallons. I'd have to make a 5 gallon starter.

    So, my carefully harvested yeast blew the lid off...the one on the left. I caught it pretty soon, cleaned and sanitized the lid and put it back on. Left the lid loose this time. So, would anyone transfer to new jar? Pic is a before. There's now yeast crust on inside of jar walls.

    By dumping Trub before pitching I got an extra clean yeast harvest!

    I let the trub fall out over 2 hours prior to pitching. Collected in a 1 quart jar and discarded. 3 months easy, some say 1 year.

    Pit it in the fridge, warm it up on brew day and pitch...with these quantities no need making a starter. The left is from a 20 gallon batch, the right is from one of my 5 gallon "starters".
