    Fly Sparge Question

If your calculations are perfect you will run out of water as you hit your pre boil volume. Any left over water in the tun and u are leaving some sugary wort behind. You can drain it and boil longer then needed to get down to the volume you need but that another story.

    my new set up

It looks good. Enjoy it and the keggle! Are you doing 10gal batches with that? Im picking up 2 keggles soon so I can kick up my brewing to 10gal batches. Cheers.

    my new set up

Wow ok so I cant have my own opinion and ask questions on a forum?? I tweeked my system and get about 86% without even coming close to flower or a stuck sparge. I dont get why you are coming at me like this instead of asking me why I think the way I do. Maybe if you did that you could teach...

    my new set up

Okay lets not ruin the op thread. Seriously, I just had a question, if someone already has a keggle and burner just wondering why biab. No need to get all crazy and hate me. I had a question. And to the op im sorry if it came out thay way. Biab is all grain if your using all grain. I just...

    my new set up

I just think if you already have a keggle, why not get another one and convert to a mash tun so you can properly sparge. Nothing against biab, but a mash tun makes life so much easier. I mean you just walk away for an hr then come back. And same with fly sparging, walk away for an hr and come...

    Bottling Brown Ale Drunk!!

Worse case scenario you have no carbed or under carbed beer. It will still taste good and do the job. And look at it like this, you got a free bottling and cleaning because you cant remember. Heh. Should be fine. And if you dont want them sent to me.....

    my new set up

Forgive my ignorance but if u have that stuff why not pick up another keggle for $35 and convert it to a mash tun for $20 and do a real all grain with a proper sparge?? Again forgive me if I missed something but u have a 15.5 gal keggle, mash paddle and burner, why are you still doing biab...

I would explain the 3 different types of brewing to him, tell him the differences and let him make his own well informed decision.

    Beer not carbinating

Okayyyy. What was sg? What was fg? How long was it fermenting? How long was it bottled? What temp was it bottled? What and how much did you use to prime it? We need more info. Im gonna take a long shot in the dark and say let it sit in bottles for 2 more weeks amd try it.

    Fly Sparging, How long?

When sparging you are rinsing the converted sugars out of the grain. A longer sparge will rinse more sugars out.

    Fly Sparging, How long?

When I fly sparge I make it take 1 hour to complete. It should not take 15min... a lot of ppl will chime in and say just batch sparge, but I like fly sparging. My method is not exact but ill get 78%-86% depending. I use no fancy equipment just a 10gal cooler, a strainer and a 2L pitcher to put...

    Finding Bigfoot

I believe there are bigfoots or bigfeets out there. There is something like 75% of woods we as people have not explored yet. Dont quote me on that but the number is high. I do believe there are bigfeet out there and when we find them we should offer them a homebrew..... :rockin: So how bout...
