Big fermentation and quick fix : is it correct?

You can use two drops of Fermicap next time to reduce (or eliminate) the amount of blowoff.

    $49 beginner kit- feedback?

I think you will do fine if you can market it. Northern Brewer, Brooklyn Brewhouse, and a few others sell their one-gallon kits at that price without bottles, so you'll be taking a hit there.

    German Lebkuchen Beer

Beer does not require hops. Historicaly speaking, hops are a really new thing to put in beer. I'm looking forward to hear about the results of your brew.

    Old wine recipes

There is a book called "Lost Recepes of Prohabition" that might be of help in deciphering the recepes you have. Many older recepes have measurements that are no longer used, or were implied rather than spelled out.

    growing your own barley

Have you contacted your county extension agent? They know almost everything.

    Green apples

How long was it fermenting prior to bottling?

How many fuses do you really need?

The number of fues will vary depending on: 1. How many amps are being drawn on any given circuit. 2. How many amps each device draws (include startup amps when figuring for motors) 3. How many electrical fires you want to have.

    Is that verdigris?

Yes, that is verdigiris. Wash it off again with 50/50 vinegar and water, then rinse with water alone to neutralize. The reaction that makes verdigris happens when the copper is exposed to acids (or bases, but a different pigment is produced). I keep it at bay by spray sanatizing just before...

    1 gallon fermenters?

2 gallon plastic buckets work well too. Any decent hardware store will carry food grade buckets and lids, and gromets to use for the airlock hole that you'll drill. They are good for primary fermentation, but if you want to secondary you should use a glass jug.

    Thread sealant concern

In my experience I get leaks when I use more than 2 turns of teflon tape.

Can starsan leach rubber phenol into the beer?

What temperature did you ferment at, and with what yeast?

    Helium instead of co2?

You do get burps, but they do not pass over the vocal chords (which are in your trachea, not in your esophagus).

    Deadpool

I've followed the making of the film sice it was first announced. My understanding is that they had to put things in, and lobby the MPAA in order to make sure that it got an R rating.

    Helium instead of co2?

It also won't allow gasses from your belly to pass over your voal cords.

    Why I support my LHBS

Fair enough. Gas law, while fun, is a bummer sometimes.

    Why I support my LHBS

Fair enough. I'll still disagree with you though. Acetylene is stored dissolved in acetone in the tank, so it's mostly a liquid too. Oh, the pressure gauge on my propane tank works just fine as well. It is true that the pressure drop comes quickly, but if you're paying attention you'll have a...

    Broke both elements today

As mentioned, those are spot welded without any filler being used. If the amperage was set too low, or the currnet cut off too soon, the weld will not have penetrated enough to be sound. The only real remedy is to return the elements for replacement. Soldering the joint will not be a reliable...

    Why I support my LHBS

There's probably something wrong with your gauge. I don't keg, but I do weld. The pressure gauges on welding tanks are pretty darn accurate.
