    Will my beer be good by the Super Bowl?

    You will probably be okay but I think you are pushing it a bit. Just be sure to check your FG before you bottle so that you don't create bottle bombs. It usually takes at two weeks for bottles to carb up but I have seen them carb faster at times.

    SANITIZE, SANITIZE, SANITIZE! Fermcap - only if you are at risk of a boilover. I've never used it before but I've heard it definitely works. Bailing Hops - I don't know much about this. If you are using pellets I wouldn't bother. Whilpool Technique - works everytime for myself...

    Can you clarify these instructions?

    I think this would be considered a protein rest. I believe it is not beneficial when using highly modified malt, Pilsner being one of those. My process is to add 170F water to my mash tun to preheat it, then once it gets down to 168 I mix in the grains and it usually settles about 152F.

    No school for the 3rd day in a row (due to the cold). No basketball games. Going to head to Lowes and the Craft Beer store.

    I used to do it this way. I don't think there would be an issue if you just stuck the pot outside but make sure you keep the lid on it.

    New Beer's Resolutions

    Build up a good stockpile of beer. Try to make more of my own recipes, not just kits. Set up a kegging setup. Continue to make beer that makes people say "Wow, you made this!"

    Is my amber ale looking clear to you guys?

    If you wait longer it will clear up even more. Most here ferment for 4 weeks, 12 days is not long enough the yeast to truly run it's course. It is probably mostly fermented out but the yeast are still working and cleaning up after themselves.

    BIAB is a great step into All Grain brewing. There is a sticky of DeathBrewer's method which is what I used before I went 100% all grain.

    Don't worry. I brewed my first 10 batches without even sanitizing, I just used One Step. I thought that was the only step that I needed. I never had an infection.

    Extreme Newbie Question

    +1 on Bottling wand, PBW, and StarSan. You don't necessarily need a bottling wand but it does help out quite a bit when bottling.
