    stout faucet recommendations

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a nitro set-up for my kegerator and need some recommendations on stout faucets. There are a lot of choices out there and the reviews don't help that much. Any help and tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Citra SMASH

Did you use Safale us-04? That will give you an apple or cidery taste if fermented at too high of a temp.

Your bread looks great! Thinking of a San Fransisco burger using your bread is making me salivate.

    What did I do wrong?

You also have to have a nice steady pour. Any glugging will just stir up the sediment you waited so patiently to settle out.

Not sure what to tell LBS

Be glad you have a LHBS near you to pick up those last minute things you may have overlooked for brew day. The closest one to me is 70 miles. I'd gladly pay a bit extra to have one near.

Ending up with too much wort post boil

If you have the equipment, you could do a couple 3/4 gal. ferments with the extra wort using different yeasts or dry hops to do side by side comparisons.

    Trim first year bull shoots?

Since the weather here in northern Minnesota hasn't been that cooperative, I planted my newly arrived rhizomes into large pots to get them going a little bit. Hopefully I can get them in the ground next weekend. Anyway.the last couple days several bull shoots have come up on all the plants.They...

Question RE Immersion Chilling and Whirlpooling

Yea I do stir. I got a slotted lid for my BK so I put my chiller in with a stainless spoon, cover them up and stir every couple minutes. When I hit a couple degrees above pitch temp I remove the coil, give it a bit of a stir and let it sit for 30-40 minutes. Everything settles out nicely. I use...

Question RE Immersion Chilling and Whirlpooling

Thanks Morrey. I was curious to find out if I could make mine better somehow. I got cold well water so that helps tremendously and the coils aren't stacked tight so I get the wort touching the whole coil.
