Sweet Stout Left Hand Milk Stout Clone

What are you guys getting for FG? I've been fermenting for 10 days now and it's still at 1.030, hoping it drops a bit.

Harbor Freight Tools -- What works? and What doesn't?

I use one of these to recirculate ice water through my immersion chiller, works fine. http://m.harborfreight.com/16-hp-submersible-utility-pump-1350-gph-68422.html Also I've used their knock out punch set to put a hole in my electrical panel with success.

Gas lines & John Guest fittings

Looks like I have a couple ball lock gas disconnects that are leaking, I hit each one with 50psi and dropped some soap in and they make very fine bubbles. I'm going to try to disassemble & check the o-ring, but may just end up replacing them.

    80' ground water, counterflow?

Do you have a large cooler? If so grab a cheap submersible pump from Harbor Freight, connect one hose from the pump to your immersion chiller, another hose goes from the immersion chiller back to the cooler. Add a couple bags of ice to the cooler and add some water, plug pump in and you'll be at...

Gas lines & John Guest fittings

As I mentioned, I have some PE tubing as well, both types will lose 1-2psi per hour when I pressurize the system and shut off the tank. I'm now in the process of resealing the 4 way secondary, maybe it's leaking. Soap on all connections show no bubbling.

Gas lines & John Guest fittings

If you have John Guest fittings on your kegerators gas side, can you tell me what tubing you are using? I'm having a hard time with leaks and I think it may be the tubing I'm using (1/4" od vinyl). I tried subbing in some semi-rigid PE tubing, but that seemed to leak more than the vinyl. I'm at...

    Airlock question

    He's probably using a 3 piece airlock like this, not an "s" type. In a 3 piece there's a floating top. https://www.morebeer.com/products/airlock-3-piece.html?site_id=5

    Scrivs kegerator build thread

Those are John Guest fittings, I'm not a fan of barbs & hose clamps, plus they let me change things out quickly if needed.

    Show us your Kegerator

The regulator is a Taprite 4 body secondary, it's attached to the shelf rail with 5/16 x 1 1/2" bolts that go through 1" nylon spacers. I used lock washers to make sure it stays tight.

    Fermenting too hot?

You'll likely get some off flavors, but it'll ferment fully.

    Keg conditioning

I should have mentioned I'm going for mellowing/melding/aging during this time, after a couple months I'll carb it up with co2.

    Keg conditioning

I'm currently fermenting a milk stout, it'll be done with primary in a week and a half. It's currently occupying my mini fridge, which I need free for my next batch. I'm planning to rack it to a keg, but I'm not sure what to do after that. I have a few choices: 1. Seal the keg up and condition...

    Round cooler mash tun bag

I have a Rubbermaid/Home Depot 10 gallon round cooler as a mash tun, it has a screw on lid. I bought a bag for it (http://www.brewinabag.com/collections/frontpage/products/the-brew-bag-for-coolers) and I have a dumb question. With the bag hanging over the outer edges of the cooler, will the...
