Three vessel HERMS using Auber Cube 2E?

Should work just fine if you are willing to swap the cables around. For the cost savings it would be a minor inconvenience.

    Track your BJCP competition entries

Evening fine gentlepeople! I put this together tonight using cut and paste and google help. I am pretty sure it's functional enough to be of use to those who wish to track the beers, meads, ciders and hard waters they have entered into competitions through the years. Or even just track what you...

Looking for secondary fermentor brand recommendations

Use corny kegs for secondary. You can trim an inch off the dip tube and avoid trub. corny kegs can also make great bottling buckets. Generally you can find kegs and a co2 tank used on fb marketplace or craigslist.

    tincture question???

Don’t use a bag. Coconut tends to cap on the top of beer. You can place a bag over the end of you racking hose when you go to package or over your racking cane. Use unsweetened coconut flakes toast in the oven on a cookie tray till lightly browned and dump them in the carboy. Let them sit 5...

Thoughts on Diacetyl Rest time, temp for Imperial A09 "Pub" yeast

I'm interested in what you think this means from the yeast manufacturer "Be sure to give beers made with Pub a sufficient diacetyl rest" This is from White labs diacetyl timeline study "For ale production, the fermentation temperature is usually 65-70F, so temperature modification is not...

Thoughts on Diacetyl Rest time, temp for Imperial A09 "Pub" yeast

I would let it rise up to 68-70 now. The strain drops like a rock so you'll want to get your rest in before it flocculates out. Underpitching and not enough o2 with this train are where problems arise.

Just ordered 7gal SS Brewtech Unitank....one question...

I got 3 tilts for my spike conicals and they are the worst impulse homebrew purchase I’ve made. You will likely need to purchase the tilt repeater if your recording source in more than 2 feet away from your conical.

Spike Conical- observations and best practices

I spund with about 1p left and finish carbonating in the keg. I have not had issues with partially carbonated beer. I try to fill pretty slowly and I prechill my keg.

Spike Conical- observations and best practices

24 hours Probably is on the short side. We crash our hazys for several days at work and dump the cone day 2 and before transfer. At home and on our pilot system I don't bother with dumps from the bottom but I do dump the racking port. I dont use the racking arm. I crash to 40 (what my...

    Trillium? Is this normal?

From craft beer and brewing “Trillium does use a centrifuge, but in a less conventional way—they use it to get the large solid matter out of the cone of each tank during the transfer, and a lot of the batch is bypassed around the centrifuge.” So good chance it’s just some yeast that made it...

Belgium saison...what's it supposed to taste like?

As mentioned above find Saison DuPont, Boulevard Tank 7, Prairie Standard, Jester King Le Petite Prince for some ideas on what to expect. Saison is a very broad style with lots of yeast derived flavors allowable. Belle Saison is probably my least favorite strain for saison although many do...

    Saison Grain Bill?

If you want the rye to come through you will want 20% or so. I would Cut the flaked wheat and add 10% Flaked Rye other 10% would go back to pilsner. I would also cut the sugar and just mash at 148° Most saison strains should get you to 1.004 without sugar. Some strains like belle saison...

Pellet Hops & Blichmann RipTide Pump

As long as you turn off your pump before adding hops and let them bloom and break apart for a minute or two then stir you shouldn't get a clogged pump.

    In-side dip tube question

I cut all my gas dip tubes so they are flush with the inside of the keg. There are many who do this to help with a full liquid purge of the keg. The added benefit is you get an extra inch of beer. I use a small pipe tubing wheel cutter I got at lowes or home depot.

    Drying beverage hoses

Ive been using the beer line for years and it has had no plastic off flavors. There is very little aroma to it out of the box and it is food grade fda and nfs compliant as per the labeling. I guess everyone has to ask themselves at what price per foot do you believe the label. There are...

    Drying beverage hoses

I throw it away. It is wasteful I know and I am not particularly excited about the plastic waste but I have tried all manner of drying / hanging etc and still see water or dirty spots. I only bottle for competition and its not worth it to me to risk the time / cost of bottling on potentially...
