What I did for beer today

Performed morning iteration of twice-a-day ritual of watering hop / changing out swamp cooler ice jugs. It's a shame I didn't understand sooner the futility of this - there are definitely solid reasons why hops are grown in Hallertau / lagers brewed in Munich instead of steamy 40 n latitude...

Spike Brewing is up for sale

That may not always be a bad thing. I really liked my LHBS in Hammonton, NJ and its owners, but do find that not having that resource makes me plan more carefully.

How many gallons brewed in 2025

    1908.5 + 5 gal Bucktoberfest = 1913.5.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Bucktoberfest tomorrow. Last summer's iteration was good, but boozy, so I tweaked the recipe water volume. Crossing my fingers.

    messing around with infusion whiskey

Thanks to this thread - had no idea that infusion whiskey like this was a thing, even though it makes perfect sense. I now know what to do with some leftover honey malt that I really don't want to use in a recipe. My question would be : ratio of grain to spirits? 1 to 3? 1 to 4?

What came in the mail for you today?

My first shipment from Brewhardware. Ordered yesterday morning - going over the invoice now to verify everything is in order; looks like it is. Big thanks to Bobby_M and his crew. Looks like I'll be able to post on Who's Brewing This Weekend.

Placed my first order at Brewhardware.com, since I've heard nothing but good things about the site. Crossing my fingers that I did everything right.

    What are you drinking now?

I'm a rank amateur in comparison. Pick a table; you can drink me under it.

    What are you drinking now?

Nothing meh about this one - glass doesn't do it justice. Bonesaw Brewing, Glassboro NJ Electric Octopus. Great DIPA and best name ever.

Cape May Wit, mixed with my latest BPA. Two OK tastes that taste better together.

Which dry lager yeast to use

Reporting back as requested. Slightly different recipe / process than my last two lagers; I like this one more. Can't say how much of the improvement is yeast-driven, if any; I'd have to reiterate with 34/70 to be certain. S-189 certainly does not suck.

    What are you drinking now?

Wish I had a recipe. Website is in French, and I went so far as to have my former-highschool-French-teacher wife help me compose an intelligible email asking for a recipe. Never heard back; not terribly surprising, given the current international climate.

It was an idle post, but you're all.correct, I should have directed it to the website. Apologies.

Question for Bobby_M about grain milling on Brewhardware.com

I'm going to start buying all my grain from Brewhardware; contents of my first shopping cart : When I selected the crisp Maris, the page said it would be milled; when added to the cart this is no longer the case. Milled or unmilled? Not a dealbreaker; just curious. Ty.

Sounds like the Tellen Du (Black Harp) from Bretagne that I've been trying to clone for awhile.
