    Tweaking Stout in Secondary

A couple things I forgot to mention. 1. I use RO water and build it up. For 12 gallons of total water(strike and sparge), I used 7.5 grams of Calcium chloride and 5 grams of Gypsum. 2. I missed the target gravity, so had to add in some extra light DME. I also added 6oz of maple syrup as...

    Tweaking Stout in Secondary

It's about 4 weeks old, just racked off of the yeast cake a few days ago for a little conditioning before I add my secondary ingredient additions. I find the beer is a little too low in pH as it is...not tart, but sharp. I assumed this means I want to raise the pH? Recipe Specifications...

    Tweaking Stout in Secondary

I brewed up an imperial stout recently that I plan on adding coffee(and possibly some other flavorings) too. Took a taste of it and its not as roasty as I had hoped and the pH is a little low. So two questions: 1. Has anyone successfully added steeped roasted grains to an otherwise finished...

    ISO: O'So Brewing Proxy

Hey guys, looking for a trustee for the upcoming O'so release. Would send out a shipper with some California goodies in it. If you can get your hands on some CW 16 or 17, I'm sure we can work out a trade for that on the side. -Dave

    Leak/Foam Keg Problems

So I recently kegged up an IPA and have been using a new dispensing system that worked just fine until I tossed some dry pellet hops into the keg. Although I did not cut the dip tube, I did bag the hops in a super fine mesh bag. After a day with the hops in, it still poured perfectly and...

Have Pliny, looking for Heady Topper

2:3 is usually more common, but it all depends on the prices for both if you're doing a $4$ trade. I've seen Pliny for as much as $8/bottle and Heady for as much as $4 a can. Those aren't the norm though.

    Aerating before Pitching Brett Trois?

Hey guys, I'm brewing up a sour mash berliner weisse and fermenting with brett trois(instead of german ale yeast). I am finding conflicting info on whether to aerate normally or to skip aeration before pitching the brett. I did see someone mention that aeration aided acetic acid production...
